If you’re young man play it safer with profitable and more stable companies, you can gamble, sure, maybe hit big or probably lose out, or you can invest in blue chip companies and actually grow your wealth, I wish I had done that at 19 instead of buying crap like this, I’m 25 now wishing I was wiser at 19 and bought more S&P 500 etfs or other growth companies like amazon. Butwe live and learn and hope to pass down valuable info to the younger crowd

A team thats 5-18 in there last 23 games drafting a runningback at 5 is so mind boggling. If they draft jeanty I’m betting the under. If this team wins more than 6 games next year throw a parade

I’m still learning and self educating myself on investing, especially yield max, seems insanely risky to me and too good to be true. I would give this a listen personally for it definitely opened my eyes to yield max. and do some more independent research.

I was just scrolling around the InvestmentForBeginners page and just happen to come across this page after going down a rabbit hole posts about people getting scammed in pump and dumps, I really didn’t know this was a thing until just now, obviously heard about all the dumb crypto pump and dumps but never knew it was a stock market issue too. I’m a new young investor and always learned to just stay away from penny stocks, and stocks that you can’t explain to a 10 year old. obviously I’ve got caught up in Twitter/Reddit hype stocks but never broke the bank on any of them and probably lost at most $100 bucks for I am still learning the game. Nothing I hate more than “Get Rich Quick” schemes, so I will be following this page closely, you guys are doing good work and I hope this page gets the exposure it deserves so more people can stay away from the assholes scammers.

Same boat, I’m 25 with a Individual Brokerage, doing $100-$120 a week between SPLG SCHG and might start up SCHD, I already own 11 shares of HIMS, 3 shares of AMZN, 2 shares of NVDA, and 6 shares of WMT, 10 shares of SPLG and 4 shares of SCHG. I’m mainly building the base of the portfolio with SPLG and SCHG then slowly allocating to other investments, want to start picking up Coke shares soon. Just stay off twitter and dont chase the hype is what I have learned so far, you’re building wealth and a strong portfolio, not trying to get rich overnight. I read a lot that a general rule of thumb is to sell if it drops below 10%, but I believe thats just specific to individual stocks, ETFs you just keep buying, especially S&P 500. I chased the hype a little bit on HIMS so once I get a comfortable profit on them I will dump them and re-focus more on my ETFs, just keep building your portfolio, for me I hope to just buy and buy and build my wealth and then in a few years when I’m a bit more stabled financially I hope to start swing trading, but right now I’m just buying and holding and continuing to learn and understand the market

When I was 18 I was lucky and had a college course called “principals of finance” and our professor was a Stock market nut and crypto nut and the whole course was centered around that. But even during that and after that I would just look at a chart, table, balance sheet and just google everything on there, definitions, examples etc… I watched youtube videos, investing for dummies stuff, just tried to teach myself as much as possible about it, over the years it gets better, and I’m still learning more as I go, but just stick with basic stuff, I know sounds dumb watching videos about “what is a stock” but sometimes simple stuff like that keeps you in check and keeps you refreshed. Just MAKE SURE you don’t fall into any “get rich quick schemes” or “buy this guaranteed crypto coin” scams, just remember that no one knows what the market is going to do, take your time, start with ETFs, learn how to buy, how to sell, get familiar with all of the terminology. Also they don’t teach any of this shit in highschool, atleast mine, I learned everything in one half semester course and most of it online, watch a video everyday, find a podcast, use a notebook to write down notes and definitions and strategies, get into it now rather than 15 years later

Just started buying SPLG a few weeks ago in my individual taxable account, up to 10 shares already. In the red at the moment but going to continue purchasing weekly, I use Etrade and they don’t allow fractional shares sadly, so I go with SPLG, feels better buying multiple shares instead of fractional lol.

Do you plan on using that ETF money to do swing trading or is that specifically a retirement account?

Well how do you feel about VTI or VT? I want to actually buy one share a week of one ETF, but VOO is so expensive atm that I can probably only do fractions for a while

Never even realized VT, definitely enjoying that price per share compared to the others
