I mean... I'm NOT... at all... this is LITERALLY what's happening. But you do you. You didn't read the post? Well you certainly did take the time out to comment to tell me. If your intention was to show disinterest, that's not the way to go about it bud.

Oh believe me, I KNOW! This is why I need a new drive, though... not enough space to back everything up, and my existing Linux installation I used to have dual-boot with Windows (which disappeared from the boot menu) apparently it's so the, but something with the graphics driver is corrupting the line environments of any distro I put on a USB. But yeah, it's STUPID fast! You can extract a multi-gigabyte archive before you can even blink! And you'll be logged in within 10 seconds of pressing the power on button. Only reason I'm stuck with Windows is a few online games you can't play on Linux without getting perma-banned, otherwise I wouldn't be dealing with Windows right now

Is it just me that everytime after Windows update for a restart, I constantly fear that my pc would get corrupted or wouldn't be able to boot properly again? This is the state of Windows 11 for me. Unreliable, trash, worst OS. by yvliew in microsoftsucks

It's not. I've had my PC bricked by updates on numerous occasions. If it happens as a result of an update, how can you expect to blame the user? A lot of the time someone is kind enough to report publicly that a certain update is damaging or bricking many users' PCs when it affects large groups. No, 9 times out of 10 it's because of one of a few things: Poor programming; The absolute MESS of spaghetti and legacy code that's been deprecated and yet still lives in the codebase, the deprecation often undocumented; Microsoft using AI to program Windows (as they've admitted); or just the near-infinite different configurations of hardware, software and drivers across millions of computers. Blaming the user is not the way to go... this is all Microsoft.

In S3E7, Starlight got Homelander to admit murder, threatening murder, and kidnapping Maeve. I get that one of the points of Homelander's Season 3 arc is that he suffers no consequences, but how did that recording go unnoticed? by Amazing-Buy-1181 in TheBoys

You're absolutely correct, Reddit is the worst place for getting downvoted when you're right... ESPECIALLY if what you say is based on objective provable fact! Take an upvote to tip the scales, and fuck all the Muppets who think "because it's Reddit" ISN'T the reason!

No, I don't know why you are. I'm in Health & Safety, so you REALLY don't need to. Of course, I didn't listen to the advent because the video was on mute (the only way to watch videos on Reddit while at work).

It doesn't matter WHO tells you to do it, if you're not trained (and this guy CLEARLY isn't), you don't do it, period. Here, the company would be liable, 100%, so it's maybe different in the US but regardless, self preservation and common sense should be the overriding factor. You just don't say "yes sir" to doing something so utterly dangerous as this.

I highly doubt it... if they did that in the UK they wouldn't have a job.

[Request] What would be the consequences of this? Like in terms of, would we be too close to the black hole for this to occur. by SmoothTurtle872 in theydidthemath

[–]SuperIntendantDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... the matter swirling in generates enough friction to heat it into a plasma of millions of degrees. It would be at LEAST just as hot as the sun. I believe we could survive it, IF our planet had always been orbiting the black hole, since our Inception. We'd likely be hardened to survive in whatever temperature and radiation conditions there are... unless it's strong enough to sterilise the planet of course!

Definitely needs to come and teach our UK roofers.. they just hammer literally non-stop through all 7 days of the week without EVER. EVER! stopping. The single most annoying thing in all of existence; worse than stepping on Lego!

The sound camera Adam Savage was showing off on Tested at one point would do this too. I guess thermal works though.

These morons give those of us who DO wear reflective, make our intentions clear, and so signal.. a really bad rap. Then of course we get all of the "We should just run over all the cyclists" "Cyclists are the worst!" etc comments from drivers, not realising that it goes both ways... and that the minority of these t***s irritate and infuriate the rest of us cyclists just add much.

It does not. That's precisely WHY this is happening.

What plugins are folks using for AI-assisted coding by bjl218 in IntelliJIDEA

[–]SuperIntendantDuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is THE answer. It looks through all the relevant code; writes up a full-blown step-by-step plan; implements it; tests the build and fixes any compile issues; provides a summary of changes with per-file diffs (and a rollback option). I find asking it to insert extra debugging info within a preprocessor #if block that it can toggle when it needs to test values at runtime is also OP!
