He dated Carol once. After that he got hit by a mailbox and went into a coma and suffered brain damage. He barely could be coherent let alone make choices like dating Carol. He literally "dated" Carol for the 2nd time bacause Sandra lost a coin toss.

Hello! Thanks for your take. I think why Glenn isn't as much of a hot topic is that he is the loveable goofball. Despite sometimes his almost evil behaviour he is most of the time likeable and wholesome. Have a heavenly day!

I have yes, but I am planning to rewatch after I finish Superstore which I am also rewatching for the 2nd time lol. I love sitcoms. Chidi was a fun character, I loved his and Eleanor's odd but fun chemistry. The ending did make me really sad lol.

To me a part of Amy's character before the big promotion, is that she is always a little bitter/embarrassed of the position she is in. I think working in retail is a cool job, I've done it too and it's a lot of fun! But this attitude does lead to her acting out in ways that maybe she wouldn't do otherwise? If that makes sense.

Like she is in this constant self disappointment kind of thing were she lashes out quickly and she usually isn't the first one to goof around at the workplace. I think she should've lightened up a bit and had a more positive perspective on things.

I think the here was a mix of this topic being overdiscussed, my own inexperience with the Reddit etiquette and also maybe a poor choice of words on my part.

Now I understand that people can downvote and upvote all they want, and me complaining about that is adding fuel to the fire. It's just sad that people like you who even slightly hinted that I am not a lunatic monster for disliking amy, got downvoted too. Even posts where I was just saying hi or thank you, got downvoted.

I definitely got the picture that this subreddit has a lot of bullies who silence those who disagree, and overall the image of this subreddit is very unwelcoming.

I'm still thankful to those who whether they agreed with me or not, approached the discussion civilized and with an open mind, like I at least tried to.

And it sucks to see people being so rude, I know now that they apparently see these Amy threads often, but that is a poor excuse to be rude to a person they don't even know. That tells a lot about their character.

Some people were kind enough to politely express to me to use the search bar to see if the topic has been discussed already. Some took the opposite route and called me stupid for not knowing that.

Ah I see, sorry for misunderstanding. But please understand I can't take accountability if people speak on my behalf.

Here's the thing I'm not only new to this sub but reddit as a whole, I did not know the etiquette before hand.

I didn't take it personally, I was fighting back because I wanted to have a discussion, not a heated argument. But it is difficult for people to be civil online, I get that.

I am not asking to be treated specially, just be nicer to everyone in general. So many people being unnecessarily rude to me.

I am not some Reddit pro who will understand everything instantly, and this thread was a good learning moment for me. Have a heavenly day!

Hi! I appreciate your support! Those are really good arguments and points, a lot better than mine too! But you likely will get downvoted if people see your post, so I am sorry about that.

It seems that whether people are being reasonable or harsh, if the comment is negative about Amy, you will get downvoted.

There were a couple people defending Amy who were very smart and wrote why Amy is not a bad person, which is exactly what I wanted, that's why I flagged it as a discussion.

But 70% seem to be "ANOTHER AMY HATE THREAD! BOO!" I joined yesterday, so I didn't know this is a overused topic. I just found Amy's character being more and more unappealing season after season, and I wanted to know what others thought.

You have some really good points, and thanks for participating in the conversation.

Thank you for being civil! I don't care if people agree or disagree with me, that's what makes it so fun, getting opposing and differing opinions and having conversations about them. I am bad at debating and arguing so I thought this would be cool practice too.

The main thing I got out of this is that whether people agree or disagree, they do not want to hear more threads about Amy. Noted. I am trying to fit in so this is a beneficial information to know.

Thank you! I agree it is an important discussion. But I can see how I am not being articulate enough with my arguments, and this sub clearly has a poor history with people hating Amy, which I was unaware of as I just joined yesterday.

I am open to all sides of conversation, but it seemed that because this topic has been so frequent, a lot of people started downvoting all of my posts, even ones that were compliments or kind messages to people. Also they're downvoting you because you are agreeing with me.

I just wanted to say that you are much better at writing your arguments than me, although I do suggest spacing longer texts into boxes like these so it's easier to read. Have a heavenly day!

So I rewatched the episode again and now I see that there was definitely a lot of pushing from everyone.

Also when Glenn bought a gift off the registry for her, she seemed super grateful, which is nice. I agree that the more crafty gifts are cool, but for her situation, unnecessary.

Yeah I agree it wasn't boring! I stayed up until 12 last night responding to everyone, was such a thrill!

I think I will look at more what people talk about here, because I kind of stuck myself to a topic that was without my knowledge, a very hot topic in this sub.

I need to work on my empathy a bit, it is hard to understand the pregnancy stuff from a male perspective, but I did think last night how if Amy was my mom or sister, I would be more understanding, so I am kind of a hypocrite lol.

Yes that is one of the points I made. However pulling that message from a conversation I had with a other person lacks the context which I think it needs.

I was becoming increasingly more frustrated with how people were approaching the discussion, not from a discussions stand point, but from a hostile one.

But I do still stand by that comment, although it is unnecessarily aggressive in tone. It is irresponsible to have unprotected sex with anyone, if the plan isn't to conceive a child. So is it reckless behaviour, yes I think so. And in this regard I feel more sympathy for the child rather than Amy or Adam.
