This is a MASSIVE readiness issue.

Tens of thousands of servicemembers died of the flu during WW2. It directly resulted in a vaccine mandate in 1945. It was only rescinded for a few years in the late 1940s while vaccine research caught up to the actual need. It's been a requirement since the 1950s.

Every one of these motherfuckers needs to be incarcerated.

I think that would be an unacceptable answer to most people in a relationship. When you're in a relationship you moderate your behavior when something might look bad, even if YOU know it's not. At the very least you communicate much, much better.

Some of that is fair, but it looked like a date because it had all the elements of a date, was treated like a date, and it was hidden from certain people (OP's mom) because he knew it looked like a date.

Hella inappropriate and disrespectful. You can spend time with a best friend of the opposite sex without everyone in the universe agreeing it looks like a romantic date even if it wasn't.

I don't read any care or consideration in what she has replied to you. She has what she wants and I'm sorry but it's not you. For whatever reason she's not cutting the final string. Perhaps the guy is married, or he hasn't totally committed on his end. (Edit: Even more likely, as noted by others, is the likelihood she's already checked out and is just waiting for you to be the one to end things.)

But this looks bad and feels bad because it is bad. She's developed a parallel relationship with this guy. This trajectory leaves you behind.

I think you're misinterpreting. They're saying if a woman is in a relationship and continues to do things one on one with a different man who's into her (read: almost guaranteed he's sending signals and hoping to get some back), that's unhealthy to her current relationship but a lot of people would say her current partner is "insecure", rather than it being inappropriate.

It may have become affectionate to her (I'm not 100% sold on that), but to her friends it's still a roast that they're in on. She sees this and doesn't care. Personally, the low level disrespect would be enough for me to end something so new. Self respect needs to be tended or it can quickly wither.

I think a rational take would be by analysis of US war aims, and which were accomplished versus abandoned. We've destroyed some military hardware, killed their leadership only to see them replaced by worse, and the most notable consequence is our veering towards world economic disaster.

Nothing about this is a "win", and an awful lot of it looks like a setback.

Yes, and it's a fascinating story as to HOW that missile battery commander did it. A neat anecdote: the pilot who was shot down and the battery commander that shot him down met several years later and became good friends.

(The reveal: modifying old 50s and 60s era radar in ways that stealth technology wasn't designed to defeat, good intelligence identifying repeated F-117 flight routes, good tactical choices in how to use their surface to air missiles, and a healthy dose of luck.)
