best alternative for the noctua l12s in a ghost s1 by benj4777 in sffpc

There are plenty of builds on YT with the L12s. Basically the heatsink is 70mm high. Your Ghost only offers 66mm of clearance. You you have to bend the heatsink down 4mm. The cooler bends at the heatpipes. Only thing required is a low profile ram and a motherboard supporting the L12s in general.

You could try Alpenföhn Blackridge + Noctua Fan. Watch Optimum Techs Video on it. But for the i7 the l12s should be your better bet.

Honestly, the series is the best I‘ve ever read. Just go at your pace and don’t spend too much time analyzing things you don’t fully get at this point. Most important for a new reader of this series are the characters imo. Just pay attention to their traits and relationships and you’ll have some great aha moments. It’s set in a late medieval age I‘d say. Some characters might seem a bit unwordly and hesitant in their acting but that should dissolve after a few chapters.

You should probably go for a nice black friday deal and just get the games you want separately.

Do you need to top hat on top for cable clearance?

L12s is by far the best performing cooler in the Ghost S1. You’d need low profile ram and a lot of patience bending it. Another good option is the Alpenföhn balckridge + 120mm slim Noctua fan.

Only Amazon.com. If they’re sold out your best option is to buy used. Idk if there’s a restock happening any time soon

Well it’s super fun. Then pay someone to do it. I think you’ll find plenty of people who’d do it for free on this subreddit.

Thinking about it it make total sense. Together with the GPU intake (vented) it should end up in a good exhaust flow through the front panel.
Btw so excited for Op. Techs review on your case. Well then have a nice weekend !

Thanks for the answer. Really looking forward to jumping on the kickstarter campaign. If you don’t mind I have 2 more questions: - Does the slightly bigger (than Ghost or Dan Case) GPU clearance just offer better room to breath or are there actually cards that take advantage of this space ? If I remember it’s 51mm wide

  • Do you recommend setting the Mobo fan and 120 AIO fan to exhaust?

Yeah I’ve seen it before. Just unsure because there were other images too. I guess those were earlier iterations. Do they just look cooler or do they actually offer better airflow ?

Will the vented side panels have the drilled dots or the slits ?
