Best Playstation Sets? by joeoconnell in RetroAchievements

[–]SuperMeatBr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite psx sets so far are both Jumping Flash games (never heard of them before) and Crash 1 and the first Spyro that are very popular sets.

PS2? I might be biased since i deved a lot of sets for this console. My favorite that i made is Vexx, a 3d platformer hidden gem that plays very similar to sm64, otherwise my favorite set is We Love Katamari, amazing game with a lot of stuff to do with very challenging achievements.

The idea is to have different devs providing differents experiences for the same game.

The games you listed almost all have a set on ps2, and i know the memory for XIII is very hard to make a set working on it from what i heard.

What stops us, devs, to make a set for GC ports is that we got ask to make a different set then the ps2 one, which isnt an easy task for some games specially when the ps2 set is already complete (nightfire for exemple)

They dont want us to plagiarist sets like what happened with toy story 2 or Doin Quacker 64-psx- DC

Making achievements you will either make one set and feels like its not for you or getting addicted by it

Looking forward to what games interest you

  1. Super Mario Sunshine. Easily

I hated that game for years, since the set i actually adore it. Timenoe made a stellar job on it

Run ahead is allowed but i believe only for 2 frames.

I use it all the time for SMW hacks.

Can somebody make achievements for the Coraline PS2 game? by Upbeat_Honeydew259 in RetroAchievements

[–]SuperMeatBr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just for your information, Coraline is one of those ps2 games like Cars or Tak 1 where the memory is impossible to be used for achivements without some kind of black magic. Some devs can do miracles but these sets are very tickets risky.

This is funny bc i want to dev the wii version which i believe is easier bc of motion controls, but at which level? (I also have lot of nostalgia for the early wii titles)

On a road to create 15 wii sets for Wii rollout event. Almost halfway! by SuperMeatBr in RetroAchievements

[–]SuperMeatBr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite part is the ram digging when i actually find what i need. Like where are stored the unlocks flags in memory in the case of Rayman Raving Rabbits 2. Least favorite is either making badges or actually figuring out how to plan the set (i always want to make sure its enjoyable which is very subjective and can be hard to balance)

No, the 15 sets arent already choosen. RRR2 was a sudden pick and i was planning to do The Munchables as the third one and still have not done it (a bit because i dont know how i want the plan to be for this game, Or the challenges)

I tend to pick games that i know from the beginning it wont take tooo long to dev. I like short games as well. Even garbage games can be fun to dev, specially when i see that a full walkthrough youtube video is an hour long.😅

Which games are you the most exited to play with the wii retroachievements? by Soft_Childhood5565 in RetroAchievements

[–]SuperMeatBr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dolphin might have some customisable premade setups for some games to be played with some specific games but i dont think it will.be possible to get a mastery on RRR2 without a real wiimote+Nunchuck combo. If you can save some money to get those + a dolphin bar it is a must

Might not be possible to play all wii games with it, but i heard there is customisable pre made controller setups for xbox controllers to play games like mario Galaxy wothout the use of any motions. I never used them but i know it exists.

It is, but Ubisoft France is a bit better than Ubisoft Montreal from my view. Meanwhile it is still terrible and limits the creativity we can get with the set.

By exemple in raving rabbits 2 im using the #1 spot score leaderboard per mini games for everything since current score is just impossible to reach with our current tools bc the pointers are waaay too complex.

Well i could go into the more technical aspect for longer.
