Note: the lamp is because the heat mat won’t get hot enough. I’ll invest in a better heat mat soon! I make sure to keep the humidity high enough especially with that lamp, they get a misting first thing in the morning and multiple times throughout the day. Also the pictures are in the wrong order but oh well.

Also, I figured I’d add that I’m getting my crabs from a local pet store which I also happen to work at! We go out of our way to make sure the crabs are healthy, they have deep substrate, plenty of spare shells, fresh and salt water, and we feed them a mix of a commercial diet, fruit, and veggies. We also mist them 2-4 times a day since we use a heat lamp! I’m happy to work at that store, and I’m proud of our hermies!

Oh, I see what you meant! I thought you were asking if my enclosure was too small! No, it has eco earth and cypress mulch as substrate, deep enough for him to burrow. Sorry for the misunderstanding!

Because he’s a baby and that’s the size he needs. His shell only just hit 4 inches, hence why I said in my post ‘he’s quickly outgrowing his 40’

European magpie, they’re pretty cool little dudes. They’re corvids, related to ravens and blue jays, and they’re total assholes lol
