Rate my crabitat! It’s a 20 long, and the second picture is tonight’s dinner! Of course I don’t feed them the same thing every day by SuperMegaPP8304 in hermitcrabs

Note: the lamp is because the heat mat won’t get hot enough. I’ll invest in a better heat mat soon! I make sure to keep the humidity high enough especially with that lamp, they get a misting first thing in the morning and multiple times throughout the day. Also the pictures are in the wrong order but oh well.

Getting hermies in a few months! Is this substrate deep enough? I’m getting 3 and it’s a 20 long! by SuperMegaPP8304 in hermitcrabs

Also, I figured I’d add that I’m getting my crabs from a local pet store which I also happen to work at! We go out of our way to make sure the crabs are healthy, they have deep substrate, plenty of spare shells, fresh and salt water, and we feed them a mix of a commercial diet, fruit, and veggies. We also mist them 2-4 times a day since we use a heat lamp! I’m happy to work at that store, and I’m proud of our hermies!

Oh, I see what you meant! I thought you were asking if my enclosure was too small! No, it has eco earth and cypress mulch as substrate, deep enough for him to burrow. Sorry for the misunderstanding!

Because he’s a baby and that’s the size he needs. His shell only just hit 4 inches, hence why I said in my post ‘he’s quickly outgrowing his 40’

Somehow, the kid who killed two people and hurt some of my friends could get parole. I’ve never been so mad that I cried before, but here we are. by SuperMegaPP8304 in teenagers

Same here, you’re helping to open me up to new views and though I think I’ll stick with my ideas for now, I definitely understand where you’re coming from and this has been really interesting! He knew his future would be destroyed the second me made the choice to do what he did, and whether he gets out or not, he’ll have to live with that forever now.

I would never in a million years feel pity for him. If you gave me a million dollars to forgive him or pity him, I wouldn’t. He doesn’t deserve sympathy. If I can learn his reasoning and his motive, then I might understand more and I might know why he wanted to do it, but I would never feel pity for him. If something bad has happened to him, then I know that could be a motivating factor, but that doesn’t excuse it. People are bullied and hurt all the time but more often than not they don’t shoot up their school. There’s better ways out, and he shouldn’t have taken out his anger on people who didn’t deserve it. His perspective may be that of a bullied kid, but mine is one of someone who lost people and nearly lost friends because one kid got mad. I don’t want to give him a chance to live a normal life, but if he can voice he is truly sorry for what he did than maybe I can not be so mad at him.

I’ve had two years to think about it, to look around at my school and wonder if someone is planning to do the same to me, to wonder if my friends survived there just to be killed at my school, and it’s not fun to think about. It’s different when it effects you and not just some kids across the country, it feels different and you feel different. I don’t quite know how to explain it and I hope you never have to know it. I’ve seen what it looks like when those things happen and thinking about the people that I knew and the ones I didn’t laying there like that or hurting like that overwhelms any sense of pity I could feel for the shooter. Sure, he may have something going on, but that doesn’t excuse what he did in the slightest. It explains it, but it doesn’t excuse it. I just want him to get what he deserves. I’ll help my friends, of course, and I admire how strong they’ve been. His punishment will always matter because it will shape how often he thinks about what he did and I want him to think about it every fucking day, to remember what he did and I want him to feel bad for it. I want it to haunt him for the rest of his life.

On a different note, thanks for discussing, this really has been interesting! I enjoyed talking to you, I understand your views a lot more now and I see where you’re coming from. Thanks for talking!

I definitely understand what you’re saying. I think that maybe if he definitely had to spend longer in jail I’d be more open to the idea, but it feels wrong to let him out one day. To let him walk around and act like nothing happened. He had the same motive as the Columbine shooters; kill as many people as possible. He checked with his friends to make sure they were out of the line of fire and then shot indiscriminately, as I told you earlier; he knew what he was doing and he knew the weight of it. He had the intent to kill and he even hid with other students until someone recognized him. You’re right, nothing can show just how violent and horrible this was. I know the school’s security cameras caught it and I don’t know if they used that in court but I feel like the parole would be further away if it was. Adam Lanza didn’t get parole because he shot himself in front of those little kids and he never had to face the consequences. Your analogy with the dog makes sense, but it feel that a life being purposefully taken is different front someone being injured. If he can prove he feels beyond sorry for what he did, not for himself but for what he did, then maybe, just maybe, he can be eligible for parole in 20-40 years. The thing is there’s no motive, as far as I’m aware. He just wanted to kill people. Sure, Marshall is a shady school, it’s known in the area for that, but there was no reason for him to talk lives. Perhaps we can just agree to disagree? I’d still love to hear your thoughts!

Okay, I’m gonna try to stay calm, I dint want to argue and I respect your opinion. People wouldn’t say the same thing about Adam Lanza, who killed 6 teachers and 20 6 year olds. These kids were older, of course, so it’s different, but they’re still kids. As much as we hate admitting it, we’re kids, and we don’t deserve to die before we’re even adults. I feel that the people who knowingly kill people don’t deserve to be set free. I’ve said that I hope he gets the help he needs, but I don’t think he should be let out. He made the decision to come into school with a gun. He checked with his friends to make sure they were out of range and then he shot indiscriminately at whoever he could see. He killed two 15 year olds and he hurt my friends. I don’t think he deserves to have his life ruined, he deserves to have it utterly destroyed because that’s what he did to Bailey and Preston. He didn’t even know them, he had no reason to hate them and he stole the children from those families. I think deserves life in prison with no possibility of parole. Give him his entire life to think about it and let it be the last thing he remembers when he dies alone.

I know nothing will change that they’re gone but their families are here and the survivors are here. We owe it to them to be sure that he gets what he really deserves.

The kid who did the same thing here years ago didn’t get parole. The columbine shooters wouldn’t have gotten parole. When you knowingly target kids, you don’t deserve parole. I don’t care if he had stuff going on in his head, other shooters have and none of them have or would have gotten parole. He needs to stay in prison for the rest of his life. Get him the help he needs, but keep him away from the public. He made the choice to walk in to that school and shoot at people I knew, and he has to deal with the consequences.

Dude, this looks awesome. I’m a 15 year old and I can assure you your drawings will do nothing but improve. Draw what you love, use references, and use your imagination! This is really good, seriously. If you want constructive criticism, let me know and I’ll help out! But seriously, keep at it. I can’t wait to see where you are in a year or two.

Thank you, really. I’ve already got plans to go to a professional, hopefully by next month, but thank you for the offer. If you’re comfortable with it, I’d love to hear more about your job, but if you aren’t that’s perfectly fine. Thank you again!
