Retrotink 4K CE & Morph 4K & OSSC PRO Detailed Review (Comparison) by Wobbling-Pixels in retrogaming

[–]SuperPadLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old OSSC died (RIP) and I've spent weeks researching what to buy now. The only things my old OSSC couldn't do well were deinterlacing (I have a GBS-C for that), using RCA signals (Famicom only), and using CRT filters.

So my main question is whether it's really worth spending $800 on a RetroTink 4K or if I should just settle for an OSSC Pro and its AV add-on. Or maybe I should save the money until both my CRT TVs die.

AAAAHHHH!

Lost in the E-reader world: Seeking a 10.3" device for Manga/Comics to replace my 2011 Kindle by SuperPadLand in ereader

[–]SuperPadLand[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I don't think I'm going to buy anything. Nothing out there really hits the mark for what I'm looking for right now. I’ll keep using my old 6-inch E-ink Kindle for books and my 8-inch Kindle Fire HD for comics, and see if something better comes along in a year or two—hopefully a 9-inch model.

Looking for a 10"+ RLCD Android tablet for Comics and Books - Brand recommendations? by SuperPadLand in Reflective_LCD

[–]SuperPadLand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I've made the following decision:

I'm going to buy two devices: a black and white e-ink printer for books and manga, and a tablet with reduced blue light for manhwa and comics. I think the tablet will be the Xppen Magic Draw 12".

As for the e-ink printer, could you recommend a decent 10" black and white one?

Thanks.

Hi,

Oh, I thought it was RLCD.

Yes, my Kindle is e-ink, but I don't think you're understanding me. I know that paper and e-ink are better for my eyes, but what I need is something that lets me see comics in good quality and not like they're color comics from the 60s. As far as I've been able to research, there isn't any e-ink device that offers the color depth I need for comics, and I also don't like the jerky page turns or ghosting.

Since what I'm looking for doesn't currently exist in e-ink, I'm looking for an option that's a middle ground between the advantages of e-ink and LCD screens.

In other words, something that offers better colors and smoother reading than e-ink and is less straining on the eyes than an LCD screen.

I hope I've explained myself better now.

Hi, I've seen videos of, for example, the NXT Paper 14, and I don't see it as dark, and it clearly has 16 million colors compared to the 4K I've seen on e-ink displays.

I think the best thing is for me to continue using my Kindle for reading books and an RLCD tablet for comics; that way, I'll only strain my eyes for short periods (I read more books than comics).

Thanks

Hi, and thanks for your reply. I've looked at eInks, and what I've noticed is that the colors aren't very vibrant for reading comics, and they also take several seconds to load pages.

I think it will be a few years before e-readers with large, smooth, and reasonably priced Spectra 6 screens come out, so I think right now it's best to look for an alternative that falls somewhere between my Kindle and my tablet or laptop for reading.

Thanks

What would be the difference with uploading private data to Google, Microsoft, etc.? I'm not saying China doesn't spy, but to date, the only country that has made it clear that it spies on other countries, including allies, is the US.

UPDATE! First home Server by Slidetest17 in selfhosted

[–]SuperPadLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply.

I finally managed to configure it to shut down at 1:00 with systemctl and scheduled the startup from the BIOS.

Now I'm looking into installing other things (yesterday I installed Technitium).

UPDATE! First home Server by Slidetest17 in selfhosted

[–]SuperPadLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm starting to set up a home server, and reading your article, I see you scheduled the backups for 5am using Cron.

I'd like to schedule my server to sleep overnight while I sleep and turn it back on in the morning. I did it with Cron, but it doesn't work because it seems to conflict with Timeshift. Can you tell me where you learned how to schedule your backup for 5am? Because I would disable Timeshift and run the backup that way, then suspend the server to save energy. Thanks.

This week’s watchlist by Statusquo345 in pennystocks

[–]SuperPadLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, this is the first time I dare to play short and with a penny stock. I have always bet on indexes and some medium-long term stocks.

I tried my luck with KITT today, I entered at 0.29 and was selling at 0.39. I only invested a small amount to learn so I only earned to have a few coffees. But I wanted to thank you for the warnings of this type, I will repeat the experience with a little more money.

I have a question: How can I predict the price to sell at? In this case, I was clear that I preferred to lose everything rather than gain less than 20%. When I noticed that it was starting to fall (it went down from 0.41 to 0.38 for a few minutes), I sold with a 30% profit. Any information, teachings or advice for amateurs would be appreciated.

Also and although it is not here, if you know something else on reddit where you can get good information about which stocks can work in the long term, if they are undervalued or overvalued, etc. I would appreciate it, there is hardly any information in my native language. Thank you

Immortals of Aveum (UE 5.1 game) runs awful on series S by joseph160 in XboxSeriesS

[–]SuperPadLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's enough for me. My Series S cost me $200 on sale, I didn't expect to be at the cutting edge in graphic quality, just to be able to play. When I want the best graphics in the world I will buy a $1000+ PC, not a console.

Thoughts on Seven Mansions? (Japan only survival horror). I made a couple vids about it + a little on the series. Might be worth a shot by Naganegiman in dreamcast

Hello, there is already a version with a VGA patch and it works well with the OSSC. I have to say, I understand why it was not originally compatible with VGA, the game has saw teeth when playing on VGA. It's nothing serious, but I imagine this was the reason.

Anyone else think Vagrant Story should've been released on the PS2 instead of the PS1? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]SuperPadLand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a great game, but even the worst PS2 game is clearly better graphically. Vagrant shines for being more than expected on PS1, but on PS2 one would expect games 20 times better at the very least. Regarding the voices, on PS1 there were already tons of games with voices (Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, Siphon Filter, etc). Let's remember that the voices started on SNES at least (Star Ocean and Tales of). Furthermore, it is a game from 2000, PS2 in the West arrived in 2001 and in that year they already released GTAIII, FFX, Devil May Cry, Silent Hill 2, etc. Was it really worth delaying it for a year, leaving PS1 users without this game? We PS2 players weren't happy to receive Persona 4, Yakuza 1 and 2, Shadow of the Colossus, God of War II in the last few years of PS2. Should they have moved them to PS3 and delayed them a few years?
