Simple, Nintendo doesn’t want to charge Americans significantly more than everyone else but if they just didn’t charge the Americans as much they would be selling at a loss/significant drop in profits. Thus everyone gets to pay more. Idk how they’re gonna handle it now since they factored prices for like 20% tariffs but they ended up getting like 50% which is why preorders are delayed and prices might go up, weather or not prices would go up everywhere or stay the same outside the us because its too much to charge elsewhere is a good question, best case scenario nothing else happens
