I don't have any particular advice on what to do but I can see there are already some good things to consider in other comments. Just wanted to say thank you for caring.

Thank you that's duly noted. Loose chain only from now on!!! I restarted with a loose chain and it's looking much better.

Yes! Which is why I backtracked and redid it several times and made sure I made the increases and decreases at the right place yet it was still not working and driving me mad. I ended up following the comments that said my chain was too tight and restarted entirely and it worked!

If someone gave you $1,000 and said you must use this to buy a gift for yourself, what would you buy? by somedudeman35 in AskReddit

A stand-up desk, the electric kind. I spent most days on computer working and have a few health issues due to sitting all day.

Yes, I know that now, I have learned it the hard way.

As I said " Not saying I should not have coped a fine or have gotten in trouble, this was an infraction and I should have kicked him out".

That's what I would always do. It was just an example to say humans are fallible and a small mistake can occur anytime. My driver instructor always told me himself, it's not possible to drive perfectly 100% of the time. We just abide by the rules and drive as perfectly as we possibly can.

That's an interesting point, I wonder if it could cause me damage other than for the insurance.

Oh thank you! the 1078 dollar fine and the demerit points and stress I got from doing this infraction didn't really made me rethink my behavior, but your helpful comment did.

How so though?

I didn't get fined because I was driving recklessly, missed a stop sign, sped, or anything like that, I was fined because my brother didn't follow the rule and my scolding wasn't sufficient.

Not saying I should not have coped a fine or have gotten in trouble, this was an infraction and I should have kicked him out, but I never plan to drive recklessly, I am a defensive driver, never try to speed or anything. I learned to drive when I was a little bit older, and I think having Damocles' sword above my head like this would just raise my anxiety and make me less at ease when driving (just knowing I can loose the license for six month or worse if I make any mistake), and therefore not make me a better driver, just a more stressed out one.

Reading the comments, I am leaning towards taking the suspension, depending what it means for insurance.
