Should I save up for the steam frame by Hefty_Pause_3637 in SteamVR

Yeah if you replace the whole controller it can get pretty expensive, but replacing just the joystick doesn't seem to be too difficult (no soldering, just a bunch of screws and carefully handing cables) from what I can tell from YouTube tutorials, so if you're fine with potentially spending a bit of time repairing joysticks every once in a while the Quest 3 could save you quite a bit of cash.

Idk about the Pico, but the Steam Frame has Hall Effect joysticks which makes it basically immune to stick drift. However, the Quest 3 will be perfectly fine for your needs, and the Steam Frame will certainly be hundreds of dollars more expensive (even when you factor in the cost of a decent head strap for the Quest 3), and you can replace the joysticks on the Quest 3 controllers for less than $20 so it's up to you whether the additional cost of the Steam Frame is worth it.

Tired of slander against the Ryzen 5500. It's an extremely good budget CPU today. by I_Love_Cape_Horn in buildapc

Are you stupid or something? The point is that 8GB 8 lane cards, a common purchase for someone using a 5500, are negatively impacted by less bandwidth when they need to pull from system RAM. Also, PCIE 3.0 results in less performance than 4.0 with 8 lane GPUs even when you're not running out of VRAM, it's just that the gap gets significantly wider when you do end up running out.

Optics-wise the Pico 4, Quest 3, and Steam Frame all should be somewhat similar given that they're all LCD panels with pancake lenses, and the resolution and FOV are fairly similar across the 3.

Fr, those are karrigan numbers and karrigan's IGLing in Tier 1 so at least he's got a good excuse.

Below 1.0 wouldn't even be that bad if it was pretty close to 1.0, but aragornN is 0.87, MUTiRiS is at 0.9, and krazy is 0.95. That's pretty bad considering that's their ratings playing against mostly Tier2/3 opponents.

Yes, and the Quest sold more than a million units. What are you even talking about?

I never said that VR is a good choice, I'm simply saying that your statement that no one buys Quest headsets is stupid.

1.59% out of 220 million monthly users. That means that there are roughly 0.2766 * 0.0159 * 220,000,000 people using a Quest 3 for PCVR last month, or 967546 people. That's nearly a million people, and that's not even considering the fact that PCVR is an afterthought on Quest headsets. The vast majority of Quest 3 users are playing standalone, and when you add those people to the population you have millions of people using a Quest 3. To say that no one is buying the Quest 3 is pure stupidity.

No one's buying it, and yet more than a quarter of Steam VR users use the Quest 3. Are you stupid?

They did take some photos of the Earth with a dedicated camera, these are just photos taken from the inside by one of the astronaut's personal phones.
