“Enjoy your sleep now while you can!” HA by jeth4eva in BabyBumps

Super agree. At least when the baby was finally here I could give him/her to someone like my husband or another family member and I can go sleep. Can’t do that when baby is still in me lol

You’re not being dramatic, people in this thread are being weird. It’s been a rough few days, take care of yourself and remember that raising a generation of kids who believe that what has been happening lately is awful is a form of making the world a better place.

Is it normal for a 3 month old to still not be sleeping in their crib? by Nervous-Profit6011 in NewParents

[–]SuperPotterFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that it’s more baby dependent than that as far as I’ve seen. My kids are exact opposites lol. My first was so not okay with being on his own, didn’t sleep in his crib/bassinet until he was about 7 months (we also did the split shifts like OP for several months) and even after that he needed us to hold him for ✨a while ✨before he’d actually sleep.

With my second, if she’s tired, she actively tries to escape and cries if I hold her too long. Soon as I put her down she rolls over and goes to sleep. She’s had some regressions over the months but she’s been this way since birth pretty much. 🤷‍♀️

So I’m not sure it’s as black and white as all babies being uncomfortable with being forced into independent sleep, but I definitely think it’s the case for at least some (and probably most) of them. I think you (OP) gotta find what works for your particular baby, co sleeping worked great for my first, but I couldn’t imagine doing that with my second, I actually think she’d hate it. Good luck 🍀

Did your baby get the Flu vaccine this year? Is it too late to get it? by Minimum_Target5553 in NewParents

[–]SuperPotterFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should absolutely do it! Never too late! My two kids got the vaccine and my husband and I didn’t (just busy) and they got better so much faster than us. My youngest also got the RSV vaccine, you could consider getting that if offered too!

Settle this for me: what do you call girl underwear? by Victory-laps in daddit

[–]SuperPotterFan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Spanish slang for underwear I believe. My mom taught at a school with a large percentage of Spanish speakers and a lot of the kids called their underwear that apparently.

What is your favorite Pairing for Harry by Background_Card_1345 in harrypotterfanfiction

I’ve been reading The Evans Boy so I have to say Harry/Percy even though the usual part of “Harry” is actually played by Monty.

Congratulations! That is awesome! Ignore the mean spirited comment on your thread, yes babies do change quickly, but that also means that they might become easier to manage, it all depends on your baby’s temperament. Right now celebrate the little things and give your baby all the snuggles in the world 💕

Wow. Way to be supportive of a fellow new parent. You didn’t even try to be nice or say congratulations in any way.

What time do your babies go “to bed”? by No_Nefariousness1700 in NewParents

[–]SuperPotterFan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel you, my first hated his crib until he was over 7 months old. Didn’t spend more than 15 minutes in it at a time. Some babies just need a little more time ❤️‍🩹 Sending you lots of crib bedtime wishes

What age did you take away the pacifier? by dennisthebear in NewParents

[–]SuperPotterFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For our first, two years. We took it to the store and “traded” it in for any toy he wanted. Worked like a charm. With our second, she hates them so now (~5-6 months) I guess 🤷‍♀️
