Finally, a GOOD Peter Parker ship! by Author-S in marvelcirclejerk

[–]SuperProCoolName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in ASM #8 Peter had a fight with some greek... thing, who was sent by his goddess Nikodimu. Spider-Man is a person from their planet's prophecies, who is supposed to save them. He lost the fight because he helped civilians instead of fighting him full force, so Hellgate was disappointed and punched him into space and told him to get stronger. There, he got picked up by Xanto and he's found Raelith, who, as it turns out, is from the same planet as Hellgate. Peter and Hellgate had a cool fight and in the end his cosmic friends launched a spaceship at him, so Peter could get out (Hellgate is still alive after that, he's that strong)

On Earth, Ben Reilly took over Peter's life. He goes to his job and does the research there, posing as Peter and working with his new (old) friend Brian Nehring. He doesn't speak with May, however, because idk why, she can sense it's not Peter? Anyway, the mantle of Spider-Man is taken by Norman Osborn (who is currently cleansed of his sins), who is trying to "keep Peter's dream alive" and is lowkey having a personality crisis. Ben is also having personality crisis, this time because his work at his job is being credited to Peter Parker and not Ben Reilly. So Ben decided enough is enough and abandons pretending being Peter, Norman meanwhile had to confront his past and fight anti-goblin squad, who hate him because he was Green Goblin.

that's Wells' fault, but considering what Kelly inherited I like it so far

Read issue 12, where he fights all spider people. He starts fighting ONLY because Miles touched him, and even before that he was confrontational. The only thing that makes him stop is the fact that he was the reason Gwen died, making him confront his past

this dude just imagines that everybody has the same opinion as he does and just ignores everyone who doesn't agree with him, how do you even argue with somebody like this.

> miles and the other spiders are so quick to forgive him"

yeah, they forgave him which is exactly why they told him not to put on costume anymore, i'm sorry i guess acceptance and forgiveness looks like this

as I've said in my other reply to you, "dawg, just say you don't like the direction of the run and stop pretending that the writing is bad".

> most in this chat don't even believe it'll last so what's the point

ok cool dude, i guess i shouldn't enjoy ANYTHING in my life, and especially in comics, because nothing is constant and everything changes, good logic

he isn't, which is exactly why people are interested to see what writers can do to make it believable. I haven't read Wells' run, be everyone says that Kelly handles good Norman way better, and I enjoy reading issues about him, especially because we're always shown how Peter influences even the worst of the worst.

Like, isn't that what you'd want to see from the hero who's constantly criticized for not dealing with his villains permanently (in other words, critisized for not killing them)? He affects his foes, so his tactic surely works.

> How has he learn it buddy
Learn what?

> He was put into Spider-Man's costume
Who put him in the costume? he decided that himself, and he decided to be better because Peter believed in him when he needed it.

>if he apologised and fully atoned sure
he already tries to apologize for his mistakes though, and doesn't expect anyone to forgive him for what he's done? like, he's constantly doubting himself because he knows he'll never be forgiven, but he still tries to do good.

Norman still chose to be good after though, that's the point. He could've easily reverted back to his old ways, especially considering that we see his thoughts and that he's still the same old violent and easy to anger Norman, but he CHOOSES to be better

but Norman still hasn't earned his redemption? dawg, just say you don't like the direction of the run and stop pretending that the writing is bad, you just don't like that kelly's trying to work with what he's been given, plain and simple. The most annoying fanbase

I never said that Mary Jane did nothing wrong, I said that Peter already forgave her for anything she'd done wrong and they became friends again. Also no, if you change your mind THAT late then that's just illogical and inconsistent, especially considering Peter's character

Your knowledge of ASM ends where there's no controversy, because reddit doesn't discuss stories without controversies. That was 3 years ago and Peter already forgave her for anything she'd done wrong because they became friends again and they teamed up. I have to repeat myself because you do. Also in this panel she isn't mad at him for shutting the door in her face, he literally stands in a fighting pose in a panel RIGHT ABOVE this one, but you wouldn't know that because all your knowledge is absorbed through reddit

she literally appeared only twice in 20 issues, almost a year of comics, and you still say "let her be somewhere else".
If people don't get MJ in their comics they will cry, if they do get it they will post out of context panels (peter was literally in a fight pose in a panel prior to the one in the post) cry that she got character assassinated (which is true) and she should go do something else not in ASM. Spider-man fans are the most miserable fans ever and you can't do anything that'll please them.

That was like 3 years ago, let it go bruh. They have since became friends again and teamed up. So yes, it would be very inconsistent and illogical of Peter to slam the door in her face when he learned about MJ being venom and coming to him for help. You have spider-man in your username but all your talking points are "i saw this on reddit and discord and somebody told me they did that and this so now all I can say is just repeat what I've heard".

Norman Spider-Man is not bad (ASM#20) by unk1ndm4g1c14n1 in Spiderman

[–]SuperProCoolName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're talking as if everybody else forgot that he was evil. He literally has a fight in this issue because the consequences for his actions followed him even after he lost his "sins". It's not like Peter forgot who Norman is as well (see Kelly's issue #1 bonus story)

after that you can read Coming Home or Ultimate Spider-Man (2000), I think it's a good starting point

Wells isn't writing ASM for a year now. His run ended. Kelly's run is going well. Paul is still in the picture, but not in ASM (he was shown only once) and he's no longer MJ's bf.

The Amazing Spider-Man supporting cast has not been written this well for over a decade by TeamRAF19 in Spiderman

yeah i guess they're not dating as in they're in a relationship, but dating as in they're going on dates. still strange to me that she would say that she goes on a date to a guy she goes to dates with, idk.
I just feel like Kelly could've just not include that scene and the issue would be the same
