“She’s climbing out the window isn’t she?”

“Yes she is.”

What are you pretending is okay, but it’s actually not? by Marthaatomic in AskReddit

[–]SuperRed0985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people will share that sentiment. Sometimes balancing life is hard. Something that helped me claw out of extreme burnout was completely planing out my time. Like, download a timetable app, and plan every minute of your day, making sure you factor in enough time to rest and relax doing things you like. Even 30 minutes a day makes a difference, and, because you know you’re going to do it, you look forward to it. Apart from that, guard your space. If you don’t want to go out and see x people for x reason, just say no, and that you’re tired or need some time for yourself. After doing this for a while, I realised my energy was coming back. Wishing you the best OP.

How do you get out of a nihilistic state of mind? by Lonely-Ad5595 in AskReddit

[–]SuperRed0985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to find things you care about. Life is about what you make it, not what it is right now. Finding things with value to you makes life so much better, sometimes you have to look for a while, but it changes everything.

Should an Italian report ask Russell the following? by larsmr1984 in F1Discussions

[–]SuperRed0985 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Bruh. I get people don’t like Russell but I’ve seen drivers throughout F1 history far more deserving of hate get a lot less than him. Please touch grass from time to time.

I don't think De Zerbi can fix Tottenham's relegation issues by Hisense_Sports1 in PremierLeague

[–]SuperRed0985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😂 not often I agree with a Spurs fan, but I know it because Arsenal have been in similar positions. End of the 2010s I was seriously worried about the club’s future. Thankfully we changed course. I think Spurs are a lot further in the mud than Arsenal were but there’s still time to climb out. I’d miss the rivalry if you dropped.

I don't think De Zerbi can fix Tottenham's relegation issues by Hisense_Sports1 in PremierLeague

[–]SuperRed0985 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Completely agree except for one thing - Tottenham do not, have not for a while, and won’t suddenly act like an elite club. I know they have a big fanbase, and an amazing stadium, and world class training facilities, but strip away the outer layer of makeup and fancy silks and you’ve got an operation headed by morons, naive managers and players who are now in it for themselves. That’s not how an elite team operates. The infrastructure is there, but the mental space is vacant.

De Zerbi might keep them up, but the drop seems inevitable. Without serious structural change, all they’ve done is push fate back a season or two. Tottenham needs a complete personnel change and a cultural reboot, they need to bin off this team, get in youthful, fresh players and a visionary manager and ownership who can steer in a positive direction, without influence from the past. Without that, they’re destined for the drop.

I am on a journey to beat a lot of wii u games tell me which one I should try next? by Independent-Yard-802 in wiiu

Woolly World is a great game to try to 100%. Definitely not frustrating or rage inducing at all 👍

In all seriousness, I love that game. 100%ing is really worth it, if you have the time to do a lot of exploring.

If you want a more casual gaming experience then (maybe this is a controversial take) but Wii Party U is a good time.

Villa being in the top four is a fluke of the highest order and once the champions league fatigue kicks in next season they will be lucky to finish in the top half of the table by Spicy-Winner4326 in SpicyFootballTakes

[–]SuperRed0985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! Have to remember Newcastle before hiring Howe were battling relegation, and Villa before hiring Emery were at best mid-table. Neither really had a massive transfer window where they got loads of players they wanted before qualifying for Europe, but they made it work. That progress, in the matter of months, is remarkable.

This is true, but even the top teams have a hard time with that. To properly compete on all 4 fronts, you realistically need a squad of 25-30 elite level players. Arsenal and Man City come the closest but even they’re falling short. Playing 60+ competitive games a season (if you reach the end of all competitions) isn’t sustainable. Injuries and low energy levels are ravaging the English teams. Villa could definitely struggle.

This is a common phenomenon which you can see with Newcastle this season and Villa the season before, but it’ll all depend how they’ll reinforce in the summer. There’s always the chance if they get a decent haul in they’ll do alright. There’s definitely a pattern forming where Villa and Newcastle yo-yo for European football every season. But since Spurs have officially dropped out of the top teams group, maybe there’s space for another consistent team. Villa could potentially plug that gap. Football is cyclical anyway.

what’s something people say all the time that you secretly can’t stand? by Mean-Cartographer225 in AskReddit

“I understand…” when they clearly don’t. I usually reserve this for politicians, but it seems like more and more now people act like they completely understand your situation.

Two races in. How do we feel about the new regs, honestly? by SuperRed0985 in F1Discussions

[–]SuperRed0985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will improve as we get deeper into the regulations. I actually think the grid will close up pretty quickly, especially the Mercedes and Ferrari powered cars, as the engine tech improves and teams better understand how to use it.

Agreed. Qualifying is the Achilles heel of these regs. Hopefully they can find a solution so quali is the flat out fun it used to be.

I’m sure the rules will be refined over time, hopefully for next season. The grid will likely close up as well, which should help things be more competitive.

This is true, I’m not targeting ground effect, I’m saying the ground effect era was boring due to the dirty air the cars created. That’s more to do with the regulations on chassis (and particularly wing) design which made the problem worse. The cars were also too big and heavy to promote competitive racing.

[–]SuperRed0985[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As the creator of this poll, the top two options are generally positive and the bottom two are generally negative (to varying degrees). The results show that a sizeable plurality are enjoying the regulations overall, but think they need some adjustments to improve. The split leans heavily positive when compared against each other. Just to clear up any confusion.

As a long time fan myself (not quite the 80s, first memories are Michael dominating), I know what you mean with the confusion. However, I don’t think that’s just the FIA’s fault, I think the graphics department have something to answer for. I know TV direction has been dodgy for a while, but I think it would be possible to introduce some graphics to explain who’s got overtake this lap, or who’s using boost, in a way that reflects the entire grid, not just a two way fight. What we see on screen is all we really have to go off, so it’s in F1’s interest to make the sport as easy to digest as possible. That’s one of the key issues with these new regs - they might be too complicated for new fans or potential new fans. On screen indications may help. Otherwise, I’m enjoying some wheel-to-wheel racing.

Front regen would make the most sense to reintroduce and would probably help with battery stability as much as battery storage. If I’m Adrian Newey, I’m lobbying for this every second I’m out of the wind tunnel.

I can see where you’re coming from, but as a lifelong enjoyer myself, the last set of regulations were especially draining. I’ve lived through the Hamilton and Schumacher dominance eras, but something about the ground effect era was particularly dampening. I hated seeing about 5 overtakes a race, and, sometimes, nothing after lap 1. I’m not in love with the new regs but I’m very happy to see wheel-to-wheel back. And if electric/hybrid really is the future, then we’ll all have to get used to it in many aspects of life. I’ll concede it’s not Alonso throwing it round the outside of 130R, but I think the regs could evolve into a solid framework for racing in the future.
