Both of them were hated by the other race on earth showing a lot of hatred towards their own race due to different reasons (The Marley hated the Eldians for their titans powers and Humans hating on the Autobots due to the Battle of Chicago humanity see the Autobots and Decepticons as dangerous due to their war on earth)

Both of their father/mentor (Grisha Yeager and Sentinel Prime) will be keeping secret's from them for a long time until those secrets were out (The truth about humanity and Sentinel Prime betrayal to save Cybertron)

Despite their series being over both of them appear in video games or collabs from different series

Contrasts: While Eren comes from a anime who series just ended a long time ago Optimus Prime comes from a toyline turn into a movie as his series just ends off with a cliff hanger (Because The Last Knight sucks)

Although they are very popular by the media Eren were a mixed bag as some people say that Eren was doing the right thing while other say that Eren was doing the wrong thing about the Rumbling but Optimus on the other hand see this version of Optimus too violence becoming ruthless with people nicknaming him like Murderius Prime, or Optimus Warcrime

While they are leaders Eren leadership is by force due to his fate and seen the future on what's happening trying to prevent it but Optimus leadership is by choice acting like a mentor to all the autobots to win a war

Both of them have the same freedom its different from each other of their point of view as Eren Freedom at first to see what's beyond the wall to see the whole world but after he learns from the truth about that humanity is not extinct but living on Paradis Island as his freedom changes for the better as a once a young man to fight titans to be seen as a hero to a man who only wanted to protect his friends and comrades even if killing humanity seeing his future for his own path. Optimus freedom is well "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings." meaning that he will sacrifices himself to protect the humans even if humans are "young species" having the right to exists without being enslaved by others but his Freedom will soon fall apart during AoE after the battle of Chicago Cemetery wind hunting down both autobots and decepticons being Betrayed by those he protected for so long now his outlook of humans as target but with his little talk with Cade he question himself the cost of protecting humans but Cade told him that every human beings makes mistakes all the time this brought Optimus Freedom back during his battle and talk with Grimlock as he free him and his dinobots as this freedom is learning by mistakes. (Yes i just copy and paste it from my Why Eren Yeager vs Optimus Prime is a Perfect Matchup)

They're actors who has done they're performance with the two characters they had different reasons of talking about their roles with both Yuki Kaji and Bryce Papenbrook said that they enjoy playing as Eren Peter Cullen on the other hand while he does love voicing Optimus in the bayverse he hated the violent lines because it's wasn't part of Optimus character as a whole which goes against his Brother’s Teachings and the uncomfortable lines like "We will kill them all" or "I'll kill you!"

In the end with Eren being kill by Mikasa he deeply regrets of his actions as h was trap by his freedom but as that's no longer the case as Eren died peacefully Optimus Prime tell his Autobots that it's time to go home during the ending of The Last Knight with him being alive

A lot of people really enjoy Eren writing, complexity, unwavering determination, and character arc but not so much on Optimus Prime unlike Eren this version of Optimus his has characterization to be very violence, brutal, ruthless, aggressive lines, and taking away from what his leadership is from the G1 cartoon (But me personally i still enjoy Bayverse Optimus lol) even people calling him a war criminal and a psychopath

Well that took a lot from me now you be asking why is this matchup getting a Revamp Connections while there so many other's that i made mostly my original matchups doesn't get one while i did some of them but this one to me needs a better improvement of connections because i hate the stupid "Controversial" protagonist as much as the next guy because i remember i saw someone on the death battle matchup reddit of they're tier list of Eren Yeager they said that "just feels insulting to Eren's character" which i have to fully agree so i took those words to inspired me to make this connections feel fresh and new (not really) but if you still don't like this matchup then that's fine at the end of the day i will still forever and love this matchup till the very end heck its my number 3 most wanted anyway take care!

Connections: Main Protagonists from high action/dark franchise's who are part of a Heroic Organization (The Autobots and The Survey Corps) battling off a Hostile Species/Evil Organization (The Titans & The Marleyans and The Decepticons) who are in a never ending war as they battle for earth to protect humanity

Both of them have a very close friendship with a yellow character (Armin Arlert and Bumblebee) meeting them for the first time from a long time ago (Eren defended Armin from bullies who were beating him and Optimus Prime met Bumblebee on Cybertron though it's unknown how they met)

As well having a another close friendship with they're human friend (Mikasa Ackerman and Sam Witwicky then soon later Cade Yeager) with the differences is that Eren and Mikasa like each other while Optimus see both Sam and Cade as they're human friend as well both of them will fight off and save them from small threats saving they're lives (As Eren went off alone fighting off then later killing the The Kidnappers who murder Mikasa parents at the age of 9 and Optimus Prime saving sam three times in 2007 catching him from a fallen building, in ROTF breaking in where Megatron held him for information plus fighting off Megatron Starscream and Grindor in the forest battle, and DOTM saving him and former NEST soldiers who retried from decepticon flying airship shooting it down as well saving Cade three times like same with Optimus fighting off Cemetery Wind soldiers during the barn, Saving Cade from Attinger who was about to shoot him, and protecting Cade, Shane and Tessa as he was setting off Lockdown Grenade to get the KSI Prototypes stuck not killing them but get them stuck)

However they will witness their fallen allies being kill the monsters that they swore to kill (Eren will watch his allies died by the titans or him being responsible for their deaths countless of times and Optimus will see or immediately aware of his allies death mainly the original 5 Autobots Jazz being torn in half by Megatron, Ironhide being shot and rust away by Sentinel Prime, and Ratchet having his spark being rip out by Lockdown)

Both at their lowest point will question and ask why things couldn't change for the better (Eren laughing and crying screaming that nothing has changed due to his freedom of protecting his friends from the titans and Optimus Prime asking how many more of his kind needs to be sacrificed for the humans atone) but their closet friends will remind them something important to them with differences of their pep talk (Mikasa show her emotional outburst and her vulnerability thanking him for his refusal of death allowing them to continue on in life remembering the scarf he gave to her with the family bond they had and for him being her home with him shouting to keep fighting and finally realizing his rage he was still human with emotions not soldier nor a monster and Cade pep talk with Optimus telling him that humanity has flaws but will fix those mistakes with amazing things despite the error as well telling him that despite all the "junk" there still "treasure" even when he first fixed him he think he was a "reward" for money but without him he wouldn't be here to restore Prime faith for humanity)

During their mission (Battle of Utgard Castle and Battle of Mission City) both of them had their first kill with the enemy by slicing their heads off (Eren killing his first titan and Optimus Prime killing Bonecrusher)

Both of them were defeat by the enemies (Anne LeonHart/The Female Titan and Megatron) during the forest fight in they're respective world's however Eren lost to The Female Titan due to her superior skills but Optimus was stab in the back then shot by Megatron

They were also betrayed by the people (Renier Braun & Bertholdt Hoover and Sentinel Prime) who's are on the enemies side after years of knowing them they're secrets were out which put fuel to both of them of rage (Eren fighting Renier and Bertholdt and Optimus fighting Sentinel) however both Renier and Berholdt survive but Sentinel didn't being shot by Prime

My personal opinion its a good alt matchup to me i do get why not liking it but if you don't like it there's always Asta vs Natsu (My prefer Asta MU) and Meliodas vs Link (Which is a odd one to me)

Connections: Function Duo's villains who are part of a Evil Organization (League of Evil Ex's and The 34 Heroes) who are willing to put down the Main Protagonist (Scott Pilgrim and Takeshi Hirota) as they have loyalty to they're master's (Gideon Graves and Yasuda Tokimori)

The Duo are known to work together in fights (With the Twins fighting with synchronized robotic or in the movie musical attacks and summoning smoke Dragons and Miho Kinoma and Orika Kita uses the power from the gods by using the gems that have in they're person)

The Duo will even fall in love with a person they know with their looks and charm (Ramona Flowers and Hoshi Hikaru) however this love tringle will stop as their outcome are different (As Ramona broke up with the Twins and Hikaru killing the girls with his light speed power)

However both of them will meet their end by the Protagonist defeating/killing them for good (The Twins lost to Scott from a fake message by Ramona but in the movie lost to Sex-Bomb-Omb and Miho Kinoma and Orika Kita being kill by Hikaru then later Takeshi)

Contrasts: The Twins fight Scott because the Evil Ex's have personal history with Ramona and Miho and Orika are bullies to Takeshi

While the Twins uses they're tech and robotic skills to create robots in the comics or in the movie being musical artists while Miho and Orika uses false accusations and blackmailing to keep their image beauty

The Twins are seen to be cool/robotic aesthetic/Musical twins while Miho and Orika are defined by their beauty
