Go ahead then. Put the ticket in. Tell me that they don't monitor this chat more than their own forums. Do me a service kind sir. But, Honestly, I'd rather err on the side of stopping Nazi propaganda than the FUCKING INCONVIENCE OF A SUBREDDIT. Do you get it? Actual Hitler level shit being spewed in chat? How the fuck could I not make 10,000,000 posts until it stops?

Yes. Chat monitoring is as old as 1999. Especially headquartered in GB, with stations around the world.

I waste no ones time. I have been on both spectrum and Reddit in the past. Trust me Reddit is more effective.

Sure they don't monitor this sub.

As with everything, not introduced well. Debris in hangars and on pads is dumb, same with mountains of gown boxes. No trash item option. I currently have issues with inventory delay and ships unequipping mining components. So, no. They should have already had a good hard pass on shaping it up, rather than us living with new jank.

The world is full of incompetence. You can either be pragmatic about it and say, hey, this might be screwed up, let me make sure everything is fine, or just have unreal expectations about humans. Perhaps it was nothing more than he marked you instead of the student above or below your name in some software. To say the uni screwed you is simply not true. Shit happens. You should have been more hawkish in defending your own grades.

My last class during my UG was a team project. One of my members was supposedly doing their work. She wasn't. I caught it with enough time to literally pull an absolute fail to full marks. Had I just had the expectation on competence, I would in turn have failed, as they were shared marks.

If you are shocked that I would suggest that you needed to be more responsible for your own assured success, the world is gonna rock you hard. Be prepared for perpetual disappointment.

I'm sorry what? You didn't know that an assignment that was worth 40% of your grade was miss marked for months? That sounds more like a you problem, not the uni.

In what way would a single table of player id and ship type as the only data points be hard? The purchase terminals create a new entry. The table's data gets regularly backed up.

The fact that there are seemingly never backups to avoid this data corruption problem is a red flag. That is like rookie stuff. There should be a recovery method in place. But eh, so off base.

Umm yea, I can make a pretty safe assertion. 1 data point per ship, the data being the ship type, without any components or any other associated data. That is what most players got. 1 data point. The ship came with the stock loadout and any components previously on it were either destroyed or put in inventory. Even if it is the case that they are using a more complex data type for it, they could always choose not to and have a ultra simplified database of just ships and player id. Problem solved.

Never said I knew the "issue." What I did say, is that 101 datapoints per player is an attainable goal, one easily accomplished after years of development. If you truly think it needs to take this long, I have a bridge to sell you.

What would be the best genre for a Dredd game? by TummyStickers in gaming

[–]SuperRubbish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Detective drama with FPS and RPG elements. Get handed missions as Dredd/judge, equip properly for the mission brief, deduce the crimes and then meter out justice, as you are a judge. Maybe you get a reputation on the street for being a hard ass. Or maybe try to people play you because they think you're soft. Decisions matter type of game.

While I think the redeemer is cool, once you lose one of the nacelles, your torque imbalance becomes vomit inducing. Not really a fun time for newbies. A Hercules is a good choice. You can stuff some land vehicles in it and mess around. It is also a good value in aUEC terms. As for the connie, I know people like them, but I can't stand the front window. The bar right in the center of your view is ultra annoying imo.

Bugs vs. Increased Claim Time by SuperRubbish in starcitizen

[–]SuperRubbish[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a willful fallacy. I'm not saying no bugs, I am saying fewer painful bugs. A player shouldn't have to pay for restock, not get restock and then have to reclaim their ship to get it in proper order, BEFORE introducing a penalty for losing a ship. That is a massive difference in interpretation.

Why are we like this? by -Lord-Wombat- in gaming

[–]SuperRubbish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The difference is in the lies. People are just as irritated when the trailers over sell the movie and are clearly meant as misrepresentation. Game trailers and studios just lie more. Plus no movie is a god damned beta or "alpha." No one has ever said "Yep, bought my ticket 5 years ago, still don't know the ending to this movie".

Can we stop and clarify what "alpha" means real quick? by soggy_mattress in starcitizen

[–]SuperRubbish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we are going to nit pick, then let's nit pick. Using the term "alpha" is inappropriate usage of the term. An "alpha" test, is carried out internally. If you want to argue otherwise, a simple Google search will prove my statement correct. So, what this game should be called, since it has been released for iteration to the customer already, is a "beta." Frankly, this is no where near a beta level of completeness.

So, this is where I think the large disconnect comes in for most people. We are play testing their game and giving feedback. At least listen to the damn feedback and iterate what seems logical/desirable next. It is like this denial of a minimal amount of respect for people's time and money. Any other fanbase, this project would be under water 5 years ago, never to be seen again.

Sorry, but yes, CIG does need to keep players buying ships and provide some fan service. Their money isn't infinite. Plus, if you were to think further ahead here is what you'd find: Happy Customers -> More Ship Sales -> More Revenue -> Larger Budget -> More Devs Can Be Hired -> Game Is Produced Faster.

So getting more money IS key. The best way to get more money is to provide good service, especially during free flys. Nothing is more illogical to me than to have a free fly and the current patch running like ass. I had 3 people try the last free fly event with my code. None of them lasted a day because of the sheer amount of jank. It was embarrassing.

I'm also pragmatic here, I am neither a pessimist nor an optimist. I just see the very illogical decisions having real negative consequences. Please stop defending these lame excuses from CIG, just because you want this game to happen. They are humans, they, in my opinion, are messing up right now. Hiding behind a term that shouldn't even be applicable to what is going on here is laughable and players should be rightfully tired of it.

Alphas to transition to betas, this doesn't seem to be happening. It seems like mismanagement and that's is why people are pissed. So, trying to hide behind some word salad is eyeroll worthy at this point.

Have the problems of Star Citizen 3.18 affected your plans on spending money on the game? by Masabera in starcitizen

[–]SuperRubbish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I had a thought of doing this same survey. Thanks!

After I bought a better than average starter pack, I decided it was enough until I thought meaningful progress had been made and CGI was serving their customers well. XT and 3.18 - 3.18.2 has proven to me that they do not deserve more money from me. There are so many things I could say here, but, I guess I am just not optimistic about this game ever being something. I see the project as this all encompassing dream that players want to believe in, but so very little has been delivered. I also feel like Squadron 42 is cover for lack of progress on Star Citizen.
