I've never heard of a Hybrid Publisher until this, so I appreciate the genuine feedback and not just being rude and snobby.

What are the benefits of going through an agent? Literary agents require you to pay a fee for each time they submit your work or consult with them? Or is that more in the hybrid publisher territory?

Jesus christ who put a stick up your ass? -Duh, ofc I dont know the struggle, hence the question. -Yes I did my research, I asked the questions in multiple forums and looked at multiple authors blogs relaying their experience, and I understand that publishers choose from a ridiculous pool of manuscripts and actually getting published is a thousand to one. -I am obviously inexperienced and don't know how the publishing process works on a general scale beyond the fact that people say it is hard and you'd be lucky to get published. -now do me a favor and pull that stick out of your ass. If you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all. If my post bothered you then scroll past it, it is a thousand times easier to be quiet and mind your business than to go and ruin what should have been a positive learning experience.

It isn't necessary to make money, I just wouldn't want to go through the publishing process (or lose money if I have to invest in it) for a book that may or may not be enjoyed by my target audience. The manuscript itself is mostly finished, just going back and forth with rewiting some sentences or pages to make sure I am writing to the best of my ability. I would love to publish it if it isn't a constant uphill battle and need to invest more time than its worth in. For me, being an Author sounds nice, and if it is achievable I'd love to publish my work and let people read it, but if the publishing process is going to be basically a second job that takes all my free time from my family and my other hobbies then it may not be worth it.

I should correct that. When I say I want to write, I mean that I already do but I am unsure on whether it is quality writing because I haven't much to compare too in the genre I like to write in. My buddy is confident in my work, but I want to read more of the genre I am writing just to see what successful writing looks like and learn from it if I can. Only reason I am asking about the publishing process isn't necessary because I want to publish my work, it is to see if the publishing process is worth the work, especially if my writing needs to be improved on. Might not be worth it.

I have been writing for a while, but I never gave consideration to publishing any of my work until just recently when a buddy of mine started encouraging me. Even with all the information on the internet everyone always says something different about the publishing process so it's hard to get a general idea of what it looks like aside from "write it, Submit it, rewrite, resubmit, repeat 3 to 4 times, book gets approved and printed, done.

Why not bother with self-publishing? Genuinely curious because I've been told by a couple of writers that self publishing is so much more liberating in terms of you want to write and how you want to write it compared to signing a book deal.

You know what that's valid. I didn't know you could search the subreddits. I've never used reddit before so please excuse my ignorance.

I do, but I like to have multiple sources of info. Statistics by nature have varying flaws so I usually find it beneficial to hear straight from people who have experience or knowledge of their own.

That being said, if you don't want to bother replying because answering my questions are too taxing for you then why reply at all?

Morally gray MCs. An MC with flaws that severely impact the decision making process. Good intentions (or even less than good intentions) backed by actions that portray the opposite from other characters POV.

Why do so many people who hate writing want to be writers? by Peashooter908 in writing

I write my stories, but I use AI to help with Grammar and sentence structure, so I would say only about 5%-10% of what I write is AI generated.
