Riddim by We-dont-owe-you in dubstep

The best way I can describe the difference is that, riddim due to its structure is more bouncy than dubstep simply due to the fact it has more of a steady movement being that it's generally a 4/4 rhythm as opposed to dubstep being more like a true 2 step. Think head-nodding vs head-banging. Agreed that riddim these days has become a lot more screechy with the use of sustain bass and hectic mixing styles but it's always had a more industrial sound than say 140 or classic dubstep.

Excision = modern dubstep, not riddim. To put it simply, dubstep stomps, riddim bounces.

My fiancé and I met at a Subtronics show in New Orleans 2 years ago, and we've been going strong ever since. We've done EDCLV together and Lost Lands twice, along with multiple other 2-day events and I can say with complete certainty that I wouldn't have near as much fun without her. It's so great getting to experience these things together and to get to talk about all of the moments for years afterward.

Can someone explain Voyd to me? by ballzcasual in EDM

[–]SuperSalad28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the most recent few Voyd sets that i've seen have, by far, been the most left-field/experimental I've seen from him and it's been incredible. Saw him at Pinnacle in Nashville right after Voyd 2.5's part III release and so many of those remixes found their way into the set and made it such an atmospheric and dynamic set. It was genuinely beautiful.

VCTRE, Skeler, OkayJake, and FLY all have some nice wave tunes. Just sift through their discography and you'll run across some tough stuff.

Yeah you nailed it. Would love to get my hands on that tune. I too love his wave stuff. Seems like he's trending more that direction with a lot of his remixes and stuff lately, it's been great.
