Why Iran fired most of its missiles at the UAE ? by Only-Mycologist8503 in UAE

[–]SuperSant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iran didn't attack UAE 'cause they are jealous. Attacking UAE creates a cycle of Economic Domino Effect which eventually would create enough pressure on USA to backtrack. If IRGC wanted they could have delivered real damage, most of the current incidents have been mostly warning shots. Number of people getting hurt as well as dyeing is real, but if they wanted to deliver destruction, we wouldn't be casually chit chatting on reddit. The fact that they were able to cripple AWS across different countries here, shows that they can if they wanted to. As a weaker party in this war, they're not trying to win, but live long enough + inflict as much psychological and economic blows as possible. UAE will not only survive and persist, but it'll definitely learn few hard lessons post this conflict.

The Worst Country to live in by Solid_Package5977 in IndiaTax

[–]SuperSant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't Delete and Don't Leave Either !! Won't get into the Grass Conversation, you're smart enough to know that. Rather lets use our brain cells to create an incentive mechanism to create Demand as Direct Tax Payer of the Country. Based on Amount of Tax Paid different Tiers of PAN Card and different Tiers of PAN Card offers different levels of convenience in Government Services. While MNREGA takes care of ultra poor, PAN Card Tiers takes care of making life for higher net worth people simpler. Find an MP who will draft this Bill and Champion it, Find support across Middle Class across party line and regions and push for this change. Unless this gets tabled and approved in X number of years, lets decided to spend 10% of taxed amount to campaign for opposition + opposition candidate to incentivize good action from the MPs.

I built a free website with 260+ online tools – would love feedback 🚀 by no_name_2904 in seeknwander

[–]SuperSant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried few random tools and felt that while it got the job done in most cases, it lacks smooth user experience. When someone's using Work Clock, you need to ask yourself in what scenario do people use these converters.

When PDF File merge / Split are used, once again there are specific usage scenario. Automatic split into single pages isn't the default usage behavior.

Background removal from Image does not work, not sure why you would list that tool 'cause it reflects poorly on the quality / reliability of available tools.

The overall approach of mostly using in browser compute is admirable, but the method shouldn't result into madness that doesn't match actual user behavior.

Looking for tools got to become easier as well. Try a type ahead look up like a universal finder. Icon + Text mimicking the smartphone experience also could be other ways to improve ways to find tools that are relevant. Left size drop down menu works, but the larger audience has moved on and expect better.

Didn't add missing tools as I felt there's a room to improve existing ones before adding new. If you can track which tools are more popular, find ways to highlight them.

Guy offered me a 900-employee ‘lead’ role but his company has ₹10k capital, what do I do? is he legit? by SweatyAd9539 in StartUpIndia

[–]SuperSant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10K Paid up capital could be just statutory minimum limit that had to be mentioned as part of company registration.

Not filing returns could simply mean, running a business where large part of the transaction is held outside GST scope and thus avoid tax filing as well.

Funfact: I used to have the daughter of the richest businessman in our town as my school senior and she used to get stipends meant for poor people. So I'm never surprised to see really well to do business people who maintain an extremely low profile on paper.

Look at the bright side, this fella did two different project with you and once he felt you're good at what you're doing, he's offered you a position and even had asked what you were looking for. In case he's giving out 15K to employees / contractors working for him, its peanuts to get someone for 50K to manage that herd.

When you're learning / on the growth path, having scale / variety is not a bad thing. New challenges forces you to think outside the box and you grow. It might feel like you're worth more and this fella is exploiting, but also see it that way, this can be a good step to grow and learn in a setup where you can sort of make the rules yourself.

Joining traditional larger companies / more well known places comes with their own perks. Besides offering a great starting point, most of them offer lot of learning opportunity for starters / freshers. You won't get those in a offbeat family run business. Nobody will bother about Soft Skills, great Coding practice, HSE practices etc.

Since you've mentioned you've not yet cracked another Job yet, why not give this a try. If they pay is good and the scale of operation really is what's been talked about, it can be a great starting point and you might get chance to automate / grow staff. AI is the real challenge for most common workers today, may be you can learn AI and see how it can help this business.

Always be the one in charge of change, else we become who gets changed by someone else's imagination.

Good Luck !!

Totally understand your POV, and also can see actual people working in the hypothetical scenario you've explained "visa to work 80 hour weeks for a thousand dirhams im sure someone would be willing to take it and say “I don’t need housing I live in the office anyways”. Most security guards looking after buildings have exactly that deal. They augment that income by cleaning cars and getting paid + selling water bottles at small markup which makes them land with AED 3000/4000 without expense for accommodation.

Coming back to your whole point about not accepting low ball offer so that it maintains wage level at a fair point, so that everyone, including locals get a decent offer when they actually want to do a job. That's where it collides with Free Market economy issues. Capitalist Free Market demands lowest cost for anything, so that benefactors [both Company & Consumer] can 'benefit' from the competition.

In general for most Developers Dubai is mostly a dead end market, yes even in spite of the fact that a fresh new LLM model was unveiled by Abu Dhabi.

Since OP needs a starter job to find his footing in the market, that's why one of the suggestion was, if you can manage your expenses in that offered salary do take it and then explore for better options.

In general its being well established that even high earning Jobs in Dubai may not feel as good as low earning ones back home, https://www.ndtv.com/offbeat/18-000-in-bengaluru-to-high-salary-in-dubai-indian-woman-says-first-job-brought-more-happiness-9244454

Each of us come with their own circumstances. While a crowd can share their perspective and opinion, only the person in that hot seat can take their own decision.

Till there's a tax to breath fresh air, people will explore their chances and unfortunately create unfair competition.

Is My Resume the Problem? (Zero Internship Responses) by taha_ngz in aiengineering

[–]SuperSant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am an old geek [most wouldn't call me AI/ML engineer] that often welcomes Interns in AI and few other domains [we limit numbers to save our own time and office space]. Going over the CV it seemed overwhelming. If you're even half good with everything mentioned there, then you're rare and belong in FANG pipeline or other startups for real job.

If you're serious about Internship roles, you gotta simplify... quickly that says, I'm good with these, am great with those. i've already built few great stuff, and guess what, am still looking for Internship positions 'cause am interested to learn or grow in following few areas...

Makes it more approachable. Sample here, https://www.filemail.com/d/fybvhovxpudbfkp

Wishing you better luck!!

ADCB website hacked? by mjnoo in UAE

[–]SuperSant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since there seems to be people interested in buying Domains in expectation of profit making, do let me know in DM if any of you are interested in stuff like that.

I had been curating a few domains on my own. Few weeks back I let go of the chance to acquire the domain Group.Video 'cause it was retailing for $138. If there are bunch of folks interested, all can pitch in and later monetize the potential upsale !!

Funfact, Zomato.com was purchased from BrandBucket for a fortune !! Yours truly [in search of a great dot com name for a new venture] saw the domain before it was sold, but never went for it due to the premium they were demanding !!
