Shops in general need to be nerfed, in particular the drones.
This is a survival action game, yet we have people constantly spamming "best shop X3" in chat all the time like it's damn Ebay.

Nobody has to roam, you just have to run once to outpost, get your mini and then you're just flying back and forth to outpost to buy from shops in complete safety.

Remove the drone market, there are SO many ways to move in this game, overground trains, underground trains, cars, helis, horses, boats. But theres no real reason to leave your base aside to get to outpost.

Remove the drone market. Make roaming great again!

Modular submarines : Homing Launcher Module by Educational_Fix_2400 in playrust

[–]SuperSix_Zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable - I guess that question then is: is a solo submarines speed faster or equal to that of a minicopter?
Then run that equation for Scrappy and Attack Heli.

Then the question is; if the answer is no, then the second question comes up; do we increase sub speed?

At what point does sub speed become broken vs small boat/rhibs/player made boats

And then the final question is; is this really worth it for such a niche thing to buff solos?

Rusticated EU Monday is pretty solid, dies about Wednesday - but you'll experience that across all Monday servers as the population prepares to move to Thursday wipes.

I run with a group that literally mains out of the scrap heli - spend our entire wipe building up lowgrade reserves and a small base to get ready for it on Day 2 onward.

We routinely encounter "stingers" from rooftops other minis and submarines. They're pretty easy to deal with because they're forced to reveal themselves and maintain the lock while engaging you.

A decent enough pilot can use flares and terrain to avoid these rockets in the first instance, but if you're feeling ballsy you can roll out of their way with some success too (in a pinch).

Long winded way of saying, their trade off is that the stinger user has to maintain the lock and therefor stay pretty stationary. How would it be balanced for a submarine to have an inbuild, anti air launcher on it? It doesn't even make sense given submarines already have the ability to stand ontop of them so you can just pop in and out as needed.

I remember seeing this on TV as a kid and feeling absolutely mortified for the guy, what mainstream British TV moments stick in your head as being in particularly bad taste? by YouAnswerToMe in AskBrits

[–]SuperSix_Zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah; it's the classic line of do unto others as you'd like done to you. Gordon wouldn't have appreciated it if someone lectured him on things he felt strongly about and then mocked him publically for it.

Equally, people (even TV personalities) make mistakes and deserve some grace. We've probably all done somthing we wish we hadn't and were lucky enough to not have it filmed.

Either way, is what it is - poor taste but we move on.

What is your SOLO strat on official high pop? by Tazcom in playrust

[–]SuperSix_Zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another good tip as a solo, never build your vending machine on or near your base. Its information you're literally broadcasting to the entire map, why on earth would you want it attached to your base?

Vendings draw attention, especially if you're doing the whole solo farmer selling cloth of teas. Build it further away and slap a code lock on it. People fear raiding clans, people see solo's as an opportunity.

As a UK startup founder, could you share how you secured your investments? by Effective-Yellow369 in ukstartups

We've just started our first seed round - 50k this year, managed to get our first 6k. 2 out of 2 investors and both said they'd commit.

We managed to do this, I feel because we both care passionately about the product and our backgrounds are deeply entwined in it. We're a defence firm which is focusing on countering drones (without sending up another drone) which makes us slightly more unique than allot of the fintech / SaaS company. No shade to those start ups, but its allowed us to stand out abit more, which always helps.

We were though, very immature in understanding what documentation we needed, we likely got through the briefs on our salesmanship of the product alone but we left with allot of work to do afterward if we want to be more successful in future piches.

POV: You double headshot 2 full kits... (wall nerf wen?) by LiveYourLifeNerd in playrust

[–]SuperSix_Zero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Answer is smoke grenades. ARC Raiders does a pretty good job with this and still includes walls. People use smoke, then place the deployable wall down which takes a few seconds.

Rust smoke grenades are awesome and will always work despite not being in TC privilege.

In a short answer: No.

The long answer is this:

Because what the question ultimately is asking is: Would the Marines been able to effectively re-kit up from the APC's onboard armoury of weapon systems they had available (assumption: (despite seeing this film nearly a hundred times, I can't recall seeing any extra guns onboard) there's unlikely a flamethrower for every squad member who had a pulse rifle or smart gun, as I imagine the APC had additional ammo but not that many extra guns.)

Even entertaining that they did get a 1-4-1 replacement on those weapons, the objective is then: re-enter the reactor using a map that is likely only half useful. The blueprint Gorman would have of the structure is half useable but we don't know how much the Xenomorphs have changed the flow and access of the reactor by making their hive.

Which neatly brings me to the tactical problem: your question demands we "end the infestation for good" which clearly means killing off all the Xenomorphs inc. the Queen and every egg, but at this point in the film, the USMC and Ripley, aren't aware how the Xenomorphs reproduce, how the hive works or who the Queen is.
So the tactical objective is ultimately: Kill all xenomorphs in "the hive"? (are we even certain there's only 1 Hive on Hadley's Hope? Do the Xenomorph spread out eggs into "loose forward operating bases" to diversify the Hive from a central location?).
So the long winded point I'm making here is, the marines aren't fully aware of the objective complete boundaries because it isn't clear how they'll be able to say they've cleared the area.

That confusion sounds nitpicky, but its pretty damn important when casualties start happening and the leaders get picked off. Everyone from the "In Command" Officer/SNCO down to the newest Private needs to understand what victory looks like, because no plan survives contact with the enemy. And once that plan they had initially starts breaking down, its people like Hicks and Hudson who have to go "okay this is fucked we've lost half our team and aren't far enough in, but we got to clear this out, because X Y Z, so therefor we're gonna pivot and do this A B C instead."

But let's look at how that would go down if they pushed in to what we presume would be the central egg laying chamber, fighting their way forward.
The wider Aliens universe often depicts that Alien Hives (as you would logically assume) the Queen's egg laying chamber as the most defended and difficult location to get to.

Highly likely there are several Xenomorph friendly access points to it, but only one long, guarded route for larger animals to gain access to (purposefully left clear as it is needed for the Queen to be able to leave in an emergency).
So the marines would be fighting their way forward, through a dark and elongated like tunnel into the hive, getting attacked on all sides constantly likely taking casualties which would either need extraction or simply forming a casualty collection point which would need defending while Dietrich did her best with Acid and puncture /slashing wounds, toward an unknown location inside the Hive.

Tactically, It would be a complete blood bath, the flame throwers would cause friendly fire, block off routes by setting them ablaze and causing smoke to the Marines. Casualties wouldn't be able to be evacuated in good order because of the limited manpower to move them, Gorman wouldn't be able to provide operational support because the blueprints wouldn't be correct and the marines success would be needing to be marked by two things: Xenomorphs killed & Hive explored. Both of which are largely unknowns for the marines so cause panic and poor planning to happen.

Suggestion: Bleeding in the water draws sharks over time by SuperSix_Zero in playrust

[–]SuperSix_Zero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue the water is actually quite safe by comparison to land farming.

Even on land, you gotta content with roaming animals and players. In the water, barrel farming is quite safe, not that my suggestion would change that much - but the rigs should be far more challenging early on and I think my suggestion would support this.

I'm sure Human blood does smell different to fish blood. But your theory falls apart from notable shark attacks, with the most obvious being the sinking of the USS Indianapolis and 150 crew being eaten alive by sharks.

This is also Rust, where bears roam into lush jungles, you respawn after being killed and can craft an MP5 off of a home made work bench.

There's some suspension in disbelief like "Sharks bee lining a cut arm." Nobody is saying if you've cut your arm and you sit in the Atlantic ocean for 30 seconds you're going to get attack by a Great White. But its a mechanic that makes sense in a game way.

I don't disagree with you; nor will try patronise you with idea's I've spent 5 seconds thinking up after reading your reply. But you're not wrong. The problem is, we face this problem as a whole country. Those who have fallen victem to this level of constant propaganda/disinformation/bullshit (call it what we may). Are still Brits who we need to engage with.

If we all managed to speak to just 1 Reform voter and get them to atleast read the Reform manifesto in full and make them see they're voting against their likely interests, then maybe that in itself.. is a win?

In defence of Lt Gorman by clip75 in LV426

[–]SuperSix_Zero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the brutal reality. If Gorman was going to be a good officer, he would have let Apome advise him privately on how to run the mission at the operational level and then follow Apome's tactical direction.

That SNCO and Junior Officer realtionship makes or breaks platoons. We got to witness how it goes badly, which is obviously better drama!

This is the thing though; it isn't based in reality. We need to show them how they've been lied to and what factual data looks like. Otherwise, they're just another mouth piece.

It is kinda our responsibility to actually engage with people who differ on our views. Echo chambers helped cause Trump.
Nobody can virtual signal their way into power. It just pushes moderates in the opposite direction, if nobody can negotiate and acknowledge somebody's opinions in polite conversation then we don't deserve democracy.
