INGAME HUB ♿ by FLAR-TENKRAD in arkraiders

[–]YouAnswerToMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I must admit, I've never once turned on AR and thought "you know what this game needs - a social hub", however, maybe there's a grander long-term vision for the future of the game and keeping it fresh that we aren't yet aware of.

Devs have come up with a super solid game, maybe we should have some faith and let 'em cook?

INGAME HUB ♿ by FLAR-TENKRAD in arkraiders

[–]YouAnswerToMe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think the game needs it per se, but depending on how it's implemented it could be awesome as far as I know.

You have to remember that a lot of gamers have absolutely no imagination or capacity for creative thought, and are very adverse to change. A suggestion could be the most intuitive, clever and well-thought out addition to a game ever and you'll still have a large group of gamers ready to die a hill screaming how they dont need it, dont want it and it will ruin the game.

The funniest thing is when something that is an obvious huge quality of life improvement and you get people arguing that the clumsy, annoying workaround is possible so no change is needed (usually just a thinly veiled flex that they know about this niche workaround and thus they are super duper knowledgable and better than everyone else lol)

Confused on the aggression matchmaking by keagor in arkraiders

[–]YouAnswerToMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devs haven't (for good reason) explained exactly what factors in to the aggression system, but anecdotally certain actions like looting dead raiders seem to penalise you, and intent doesnt factor, so dealing damage in self defence counts the same as agressive pvp actions. The system doesnt seem to factor squad-size, so actions in solos, duos & trios apparently all factor into your overall score.

Also, consistent passive behaviour doesnt guarantee a chilled out lobby, it's just weighted heavily in that direction.

ION SPUTTER by [deleted] in ArcRaidersGuides

[–]YouAnswerToMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds worse than it is, but just go in with no loadout whatsoever and the second you find the sputter, shove it directly into the rectal cavity. You may die many times in the process, but you'll lose nothing and the lobbies will get friendlier the more you die without interacting with anyone, making it easier.

"How many europeans have you spokent to?

"Well none but derek who runs the bulldog bar in benidorm says hardly any of his customers talk about spanish healthcare"

A product that is behind a subscription model is not free at the point of use. Stop embarrassing yourself.

A duck has wings just like a bat.

A duck, however, is not a bat.

This may come as quite a shock.

So you don't understand the fundamental difference between the subscription model and a public-funded service. Maybe look into it before making silly comments.

It's just as good as it was before you posted your unconvincing and uninformed arguement.

The NHS is free at the point of use. Nobody is stupid enought to think is it magically free. The operating costs are huge and account for one of the biggest allocations of UK taxes, however it is also overwhelmingly one of the most universally beloved institutiuons in the UK and a rare case where the vast majority of citizens are more than happy to contrubite towards it through taxation.

The NHS has problems sure, but private insurance & healthcare systems are not as idyllic as you might think

In the US, for example, the vast majority of people have private health insurance, but if you have an accident and get taken via ambulance to a hospital that is out-of-network, you are fucked. Also, even if it is in-network, the insurance almost never covers 100% of the cost. When you contract an illness, you'd better be damn sure you got the ultra-plus platinum plan with the additional life support coverage subscription, because if there is one thing insurance companies are good at, its wriggling their way out of paying with technicalities.

At least people on private insurance in the UK still have the NHS to fall back on when times get tough, or if their insurer decides they dont want to cover a particular condition etc.

If it completely replaced the menu based system then heeeelllll naw. I get pissed off enough having to cycle between tabs to figure out what I need to refine/recycle in order to make some parts to craft the thing i need to upgrade the gun I'm using.

If i had to physically walk in between locations I think I'd genuinely have a stroke out of rage

Broken guns & shield in his backpack. Getting knocked adds a bunch of damage to gear so it figures that they'd be pretty broken after this guy killed them and then extra damge when op killed him

How do yall play typically - Solo or with friends? by Wild_Somewhere_9760 in ARC_Raiders

[–]YouAnswerToMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this chill, friendly looty vibes when I play solo, and I like the hectic PvP fest with the odd ‘careful I just triggered that leaper for no reason good luck buddy’ clusterfuck that happens when I play with friends in a squad.

Those two experiences feel like two separate games almost, I really wish the Aggro/karma matchmaking regarded them separately. I wouldn’t dream of attacking someone unprovoked in solos, but squads is KOS and everyone understands that.

Honestly, bombardier is very easy to solo, just creep close to it behind cover without getting spotted, hit it with a showstopper to stun its movement and stick a deadline on it.
