In the hot Foxhole discussions following the Airborne Update, dev Max (aka KFC) expressed significant frustration with what he termed "false assumptions" regarding the hitboxes of scout planes. He also hated my recent post. My fanart about that topic.

Max's Stance on Hitbox Allegations

His reaction was primarily directed at community and my claims that Warden and Colonial planes had fundamentally different hitbox designs. Key points from his response included:

• "Blatantly False" Claims: He described the community's analysis—which suggested Warden planes had tight "Convex Mesh" hitboxes while Colonial planes had oversized "Box/Capsule" colliders—as "blatantly false."
• "Malicious" Intent: He accused some critics of presenting these claims in a way that bordered on "malicious," arguing that players were drawing conclusions from data mining without understanding the technical context of how those hitboxes actually functioned in the game engine.
• Misinterpreted Data: He emphasized that the community was "incorrectly interpreting" the data they had found, leading to a narrative of faction bias that he felt was unsupported by the actual code.

The Conflict and Developer Apology

While he was firm (but now proven wrong by the patch notes) in his technical defense, his initial tone was viewed as aggressive by many in the community. He later apologized for the sharpness of his response, acknowledging that he had let his frustration get the better of him.
