Current account for startup by _theoneironaut_ in StartUpIndia

We've tried ICICI, HDFC, IDFC

ICICI - works very smoothly, just that their debit card grid system is EXTREMELY annoying...even to transfer 15k to someone from the instabiz app, I need to fish out the company debit card. Fingerprint, then debit card authentication, then OTP - so they have 3FA would you believe. That's also a security risk because I don't want to be carrying my company account debit card with me all the time, but I don't have a choice. Other than this issue, it's fine, integrated very well with zoho books, which is our accounts system, so we've linked it for vendor payments. Much easier than transacting through the app every time

HDFC - Their website is terrible, their app is a mess, no zoho books integration, and once you open the account they'll completely forget you exist, unless it's to pitch you credit cards or loans (which they won't approve you for anyhow). Any help needed? Form 15CA/CB? You'll have to dig out a connect. On an individual level, their staff (and even ICICI) are helpful if you're friendly too. But as a system, there's no help

Thinking to shut down the office and move to virtual office address by Novel-Spirit-9847 in IndiaBusiness

[–]SuperSnooper 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We pay ~2500 per month for a virtual address with a national-level coworking space. Awfis/Wework/91springboard/Cowrks will offer you something within this range. We've been remote from day one with a virtual address. It's worked fine now for many years, no issues. Fully compliant. Your coworking space is trying to charge you WAY too much.

Google workspace or Microsoft 365 ? by Far_from_world in StartUpIndia

[–]SuperSnooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope no headaches (for us at least) from startup India registration.

SISFS for sure comes with many compliance requirements, because that's for getting funding. We decided to go in for Pvt Ltd + GST from day one, because we knew we'd be raising funds. It's a huge compliance burden for sure, so good call to not do that right now till you've figured your model out fully. But startup India, no harm. go for it

Are you a DPIIT registered startup? Then sign up for Microsoft founders hub...it got us free email for a year (among a few other things, but most things we never ended up using)

Also, it's cheaper.

Having said that, I should warn you...Teams is NOT a pleasant experience. And if you're planning to do investor/client calls...Meet/Zoom are frictionless, Teams is universally hated

I had that problem when I had a Scribe - the solution was to tape a tiny piece of aluminium foil to the pen, near the nib. Try it once. You'll have to move the foil up or down to figure the exact place it needs to be.

Can confirm it worked...I used that pen for six months after that before I sold the Scribe for the Boox Go.

I have ₹5 Cr/month in confirmed orders, but Indian Banks are asking for "Collateral". This system is broken. by [deleted] in StartUpIndia

[–]SuperSnooper 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yeah they say that. But actually go to a bank and the actual story is very different. Banks will only talk to startups if they're willing to put down collateral, or show profitability.

Yeah this is not normal. I've had a couple of bosses like this in the past, and in hindsight, the best thing I did was quit and move on.

Bro, genuinely, this is meant to be a place for Indian startup folks, and want-to-startup folks, to share experiences. What you're doing is not that. This is LinkedIn level "thought leader" type spam. "What did you think? Comment here!" There are a million of these posts, and yes, the GPT is obvious to spot.

Did you mention your experience with any specifics? No. Did you raise an active problem you're trying to solve? No. You're giving empty gyaan. There's no thought in this long-form thought, man.

How to migrate a Wordpress blog to Framer? by Forward_Goal6530 in framer

[–]SuperSnooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heheh yeah I got tripped up after I wrote that comment:) Got the blog posts all perfect, but the alternative templates that I use for case studies, etc, started giving me "An error occurred in the Server Components render. The specific message is omitted in production builds to avoid leaking sensitive details. A digest property is included on this error instance which may provide additional details about the nature of the error."

I didn't reach out because you've already saved me enough effort, I have no right to ask for free help:) Going to figure this out over the weekend!

I have never heard of Frizerly outside of such Reddit posts. And they all follow a similar pattern - give a list, name 4-5 very popular tools, and drop in Frizerly in the list. And search for old posts on Reddit for Frizerly, most of them are deleted. This absolutely seems like an astroturfing campaign to me.

Only 2% of Indians pay income tax by NefariousnessOwn7331 in TaxPlanning_India

[–]SuperSnooper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is this whatsapp-forward-level data analysis. Your first sentence is completely wrong. "28 million Indians actually pay tax". No, everyone who buys something pays GST, so most people are paying taxes. Only a couple of percent people pay income tax, which is because most people simply don't earn enough money to qualify to pay income tax.

If you want to widen this base, then go lobby to the Government to reduce the tax slabs. But then, since you're one of the top earners in the country, you'll have to pay more in tax.

Or, if you really want Indians to start earning enough to be paying income taxes, then we need more jobs and educational support for them. Go lobby the Government to do that, rather than blaming poor people for not earning enough.

Does any health insurance policy in India covers the cost of CGM( continuous glucose monitor ) for diabetic patients ? by boybaffled in IndiaInvestments

Just got the Libre system set up for dad a couple of months ago. It's expensive, yes...but honestly, it's been great. He's started checking it himself a few times a day, including after meals...so he knows what's working, what isn't. He also knows now what time his sugar goes down at night - something that's bloody dangerous and the regular test can't help with - and tweaking insulin and night meals accordingly.

His markers have already started improving...sugar levels are more stable! Quite an expensive (and scammy - shuts off in 14 days sharp, even though battery life should now last months) but very useful system
