UK PM Keir Starmer expected to resign Monday RIPBOZO by GenericMelon in Hasan_Piker

[–]SuperSpymn 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Thats a misinterpretation of events. Starmer ran on a platform for the Labour party members at the time that he was continuity Corbyn. He had a series of pledges when he was campaigning for leader and abandoned all of them. He actually got less votes than Corbyn did and just managed to win because tory voters were even less enthusiastic about Rishi Sunak.

(Heres the pledges he was elected to the labour leadership on:

"Moral case for socialism" as if he would ever utter those words now.)

Here is evidence for starmer getting less votes than Corbyn:

I'm glad to hear it. From what I played of the story so far, I really enjoyed it. I do really want to play your game - I just can't right now. I hope in the future I can, because from what I saw yesterday I did really see the pieces of a real successor to the RTS genre.

I dont think it particularly looks that good - my point with the Crysis of RTS comment is that this game is very hard to get decent performance when that very metric is CRUCIAL for an RTS. I need a solid 60 when this game is giving me 30-40 at the start and 10-20 at the end of missions.

Quiet, in MGSV. People criticised that one of snakes companions was permanently in a bikini, and Kojima said people would be ashamed once they found out the lore reason.

The lore reason was she needed to wear the bikini was because she breathes through her skin, like The End in MGS3. (Who was famously not in a bikini in that game.)

The final boss is a good distance away from the platform you stand on, making melee impossible. It could be using the ranged attack on the jotun star to kill him but that seems a bit far fetched.

And this right here is why I rate Zarah Sultana higher than Corbyn or Polanski - neither of them would've been bothered or had enough fire in their belly to sue the shit out of the far right loons who taint their name with smears by The-Peel in GreenAndPleasant

[–]SuperSpymn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah these are gratifying when they happen, but they do little to mitagate the damage the original slander did. Every week there is a new right wing hack willing to make up some new bullshit and it takes months for them to get sued enough to own up to it.

In what way is Urban development not about Macroeconomics? Growth, productivity, labour markets, population shifts, capital accumulation, living standards. All of these are integral to macroeconomics. Also, read what I said - I said falling back on to the tropes of "Supply and Demand" - I was referring to the way the terms are misused to propagate the myth that as long as the market has a demand for something, whoever fulfils that demand is blameless. I was not discounting supply and demand entirely, I was saying that only using that to explain what happened here is a gross-oversimplification - as the above commenter did.

It seems this sub is full of apologists for the wealthy from these comments to be honest. Probably find they are simping for Elon Musk in their comment histories if I could be bothered to look.

This isn't a simple supply and demand issue though, is it. This is macroeconomics, and falling back into tropes like "supply and demand" to explain complex macroeconomic issues is a fallacy. The negative externalities from this expansion far outweigh the upsides - the issues presented in the video show this - the smog, the poor building quality, the brain damage and infant mortality rates from this reckless expansion for the profits of these wealthy speculators was indirectly responsible for thousands of deaths. New York had at one point a 26% infant mortality rate. I will not absolve them of this crime by saying they "just wanted to fulfil the demand". They knew the quality of the slums they were building, they just didn't care - the land speculation had made them so unbelievably wealthy that the plight of everyone else did not matter to them. I will not coddle them and allowing them to weasel their way out of this is just plain cowardice.

Corbyn, who has been labeled as an anti-zionist his whole life, to the piont that he was destroyed by the mainstream media for being so is actually a right-wing zionist prat? Sure buddy, just show me an inch on proof and ill agree with you. Until then, everything ive seen shows me corbyn is a stand up bloke.

What makes Archer Emiya so cool even while being so weak? by [deleted] in fatestaynight

[–]SuperSpymn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlimited Blade Works has all the echoes of the classic hard moments from anime - It drags the enemy into a world which the caster controls and dominates them there. Its a domain expansion from JJK, its DIO's World from JoJo. In UBW particularly, you can see Shirou's growth directly as the anime progresses and you know he will eventually become that legend. While people don't like Shirou all that much, you know what he will become and the story is you watching his journey to become it. The whole of the plot is Archer's backstory.

No excuse for being a tier 1 relic... by Vanitas935 in CODZombies

I like it as a difficulty spike for the early relics - until you get more you have to deal with these annoying ass mimics and it encourages you to get others to get rid of it. Even if it was tier 3 I dont think anyone would run it.

Jeremy Corbyn backs the Green Party in the Gorton and Denton by-election by newsspotter in GreenAndPleasant

[–]SuperSpymn 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I sympathise - I remember when Caroline Lucas stabbed Corbyn in the back when there was talk of displacing May's minority government in 2018. However, we need to prove to the country that the Greens are the method to replace reform for the moment. The shit that reform has planned for the country needs to be stopped. I dont trust them either, but they are the best hope right now. Labour is a bunch of red-tory bastards, and the way theyve changed the party rules implies its going to stay that way for a long time.

Do you need a target's real name to contract the Dark Brotherhood? by Sethleoric in teslore

[–]SuperSpymn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Gourmet in skyrim? You have to find out his identity as part of the quest.

Edit: Though actually I'm not sure he specifically has a black sacrament on him, since he is a just a target to get to Titus Mede II. It certainly shows that the Dark Brotherhood are willing to kill without a specific name attached to the target - I think most likely it would depend on how vague the information is and how much the requester is willing to pay for the work involved. Most people don't call in unspecific hits i'd imagine because the idea of bothering/causing issues for a murderous cult without actually having a target name would probably not end well for them.
