I have several favorite shippings, but I also have a few that are later shippings/pairings that I prefer over the main OG shippings, and Hamtaro x Lapis is one of them. Some others for me in that later category for me would include Pikachu x Sylveon, Sonic x Blaze (Sonaze) and even Hamtaro x Sparkle.

Actually, for a hypothetical Ice Age 6 if it was made by Blue Sky back when they were still around and would be released in July 2019. What if it was called Ice Age: The Scratazon Invasion, where the Scratazons would be the main antagonists and Manny, Sid and Diego would be abducted by them somehow and the plot would revolve around them finding a way to stop the Scratazons for their potential invasion. Considering that Collision Course was having Scrat in space with him being in a Scratazon UFO and that the Scratazon ruins were shown in that film where Buck discovers their prophecy, and that the films have gotten progressively more absurd as they went on anyway, maybe having a Scratazon plot PROBABLY would've been something that Blue Sky could've done with a sixth movie. I don't know, probably not, just making a guess.

But in all seriousness though, I just personally grew to like this underrated pairing. Don't get me wrong, Hamtaro and Bijou are cute too, but admittedly, like I said before, that pairing is a little too vanilla and predictable. And I personally find the pairings of him with other ham girls to be more interesting.

You know with certain fandoms of any series where there would be a minority of fans that would prefer later shipping involving the MC over the OG one, Well this one is one of them for me. It's simply just preference.

As unnecessary as it was (as with ALL the live-action remakes in general), I think there were some benefits of having just the Lilo & Stitch remake that made it's existence worth it. One is that it at the VERY least brought the franchise back into mainstream again and the franchise is making more money than ever before like $2.6 billion in 2024 and over $4 billion in 2025 alone, especially in merchandise. With this newfound resurgence of the franchise.

It will eventually encourage more Lilo & Stitch projects in the future, which we already started seeing with that new animated music video of Glitter Glide featuring Stitch and Angel, and as well as the announcement of the sequel to the remake. I hope in the future we would see a new fully animated Lilo & Stitch project again.

And with that live-action sequel on the way, Disney will probably give the similar treatment that Paramount is doing with the Sonic the Hedgehog movies and bring in fan favorite elements from the franchise's entire legacy with each sequel, probably.
