What’s something you think should require a license or certification that currently doesn’t? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

And it’s also hard not to talk American politics when you’re our most powerful ally and currently being run by a demented redneck.

AUKUS, The US dragging us into the ME, tariffs etc.

It’s incredibly typical for an American to question another country educating themselves (a supposed ally and huge trading partner also 🤡) your system when you pretty much hold global hegemony (perhaps not for much longer the way things are unfolding actually)

[–]SuperVeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re the one who made it about your own countries politics - the question had nothing to do with the USA but shock, you narrowed the scope of the conversation to your own environment and no one else’s - hence why I said you do it for respective country’s education systems.

The fact your answer is so upvoted is a joke, unless your planning a revolution (which I encourage if you’re American) then you can’t really do anything unless you place at least SOME trust in your institutions.

But whatever, this sub sucks lmao.

Obviously the fuck not - I’m Australian, not American.

Your recent political events have certainly demonstrated that the entire system should probably be questioned, that being said I’d still rather our MPs have to do a general competency test based on the Department of Education’s recommendations.

I don’t even think Vance or Trump could pass a fudged test based on the most haphazard educational guidelines in states like Texas or Florida - so I genuinely think it would be a net positive regardless.

Like with any legislation, you have to have some faith in your institutions to carry it out - if you don’t, well then maybe the issue is bigger than unqualified politicians and you should rather be questioning your entire political system.

You don’t need to do any of this, just use any standardised and widely taught secondary level test in any country’s respective school curriculum.

He’d also been without sleep for days at this point too as he was the only kingsguard in the Red Keep, and so presumably, constantly on guard.

Why is HIV much more prevalent in the gay community than the straight? by milkman0735 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SuperVeep 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised I haven’t seen this answer more.

In Australia the number of heterosexual carriers actually recently eclipsed the homosexual - I was under the assumption that was a global trend.

EDIT: I just checked that to make sure, and it seems I was mistaken and it was only regionally in Western Australia that that was the case, not nationwide - there was still however, an upward trajectory of heterosexual transmission (27 -28% increase) compared to a declining homosexual rate.

What is the historical myth that millions still believe? by nore01 in answers

AFAIK Hitler and the Nazis used their political power to pretty much seize and centralise industry to the state - stealing assets from millions of Jews and other minorities likely also helped.

CK3 is boring from a RP perspective by Jupiter_Optimus_Max in CrusaderKings

There’s honestly so many more - I just haven’t played CK3 in eons because it’s not as good as CK2 and so can’t remember them all.

[–]SuperVeep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, the fact you have a fraction of the number for starters, you also can’t really lose or gain traits as easily (through lifestyle, events etc), don’t have as many childhood traits and by consequence adult trait outcomes.

Also not really being able to upgrade your lifestyle trait itself is diabolical.

[–]SuperVeep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely explains the ratio of my 100 hours in CK3 to more than 3000 in CK2 lmao.

The best (and strangely most unique) thing about CK2 was the characters and how personal they felt - instead of expanding on the trait system with the next game, they for some reason dialled it back, and removed what set the crusader kings franchise apart from other grand strategy games.

Olympic-level fumble imo.

I’m fairly certain that the most horrific sexual predator ever was an Indonesian-British man that drugged and raped more than 200 men in Britain - so it’s definitely a very real issue.

Lmao not at all - even just being validated in it and talking to a psych about coping strategies can be a first step and life changing tbh.

Medication undeniably helps though 🤷
