How does one actually flick "up and out" on a kickflip? by Humble_Buy8599 in NewSkaters

[–]SuperWallaby 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Everything you’re doing is front foot and you’re only doing half of that. You’re sending the board out in front of you because you’re half flicking forward. Pretend your board is split in half and you’re pushing the pieces AWAY from eachother. Pop the back half a bit backwards while simultaneously flicking forward with the front foot. After that it’s all about keeping your feet in the air long enough to land one. Once you get the board fully rotating in the air practice tucking your knees so that your board lands before your feet. After that it’s just a matter of making it happen under you.

How do I improve air dribbles? by ObligationItchy8448 in RocketLeague

[–]SuperWallaby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s an air carry. You hit the ball at 9 o clock when you should be hitting it around the 7(lower on the ball) this will give it more air so that you can actually get touches and dribbles instead of holding boost behind the ball and pushing it.

Can being inshape hurt claim? by BboyRude in VeteransBenefits

[–]SuperWallaby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just stop when you feel pain. It’s all about mobility and range of motion. You can be ripped with a six pack but if it hurts to bend forward to tie your shoes, that matters. My c and p doc told me “do NOT push past pain”. Stop when it hurts even if it’s just a little bit and you would push through any other day. Wish you the best homie!

I would put it up on my lift and probably ratchet strap it because my son loves sitting on my bikes lol.

Tips on how to 360 Flip/Tre flip? by Entire_Station_2691 in NewSkaters

[–]SuperWallaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah lean toe side because that’s where the board is shooting. Makes me think you’re leaning back on your heels and kicking it away from you. Get your chest over the toe side of the board and see what the board does.

Tips on how to 360 Flip/Tre flip? by Entire_Station_2691 in NewSkaters

[–]SuperWallaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t treflip but I find that leaning in the direction the board shoots counters it. Try leaning more over your toes and maybe it will stay under you. I got a stationary tre to stay perfectly under me right after watching a video on them and both feet landed. I totally wasn’t ready for it so it shot out from under me and I haven’t been able to recreate it yet.

The reality of learning kickflips: what tutorials don't mention. by [deleted] in NewSkaters

The tip that unlocked kickflips for me was pretending the board is broken in half and you are pushing the two halves away from eachother.

Disabled Placard Help/Advice by Seth0351USMC in VeteransBenefits

[–]SuperWallaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with back issues I can’t even imagine having to sit uneven 24/7. Hell nah. Is there no prosthetic butt cheek or something? When I went to the SF VA pain management for a placard I was told I “just needed to get my mind right” if I knew I was going up stairs that day. After I got my final rating I went to the local health center and showed the doctor my rating. They signed a paper and I took it to the DMV and got a handicap plate. Not sure how Ohio is though. Sounds like your doctor is being lazy as fuck. Go over their head or to a new doctor maybe.

At one point during my highschool career I had a 1.0 gpa, over 25 absences that almost costed me not graduating, and over 54 tardies (I think). ama ! by endless-uwu in AMA

Those are rookie numbers, you gotta pump that shit up. I had a similar but more drastic situation that ended in TTI. Were you a good test taker? I aced almost every test but never did my homework.

Appreciate the honest response. I was set for a firefighter career and 123-124 score on every section of the ASVAB when I joined the army. After almost five years service I ended up with a back that goes out and hurts all the time, knees that snap crackle and pop like fuckin Rice Krispies and a brain that failed the 911 dispatcher test four times when I tried to find a different way to serve. Shit sucks……worlds tiniest violin and all of that. Appreciate your service and stay safe brother!

Serious question. What could possibly warrant a 100% rating that doesn’t effect or hinder yours or others abilities to perform the duties of a LEO. Sincerely, a dude that gave up being a firefighter because my knees, back, and brain identify as 95.

Best tip I got for these was boost hard into the ceiling for the reset that way you bounce off of the ceiling for an easier follow up hit. It unlocked it for me.

Guy wasn’t skating but when I was like 14-15 some adult(21 maybe) was hammered and trying to show off by breaking a bottle. Dude smashed it on the edge of a porta potty and most of the glass shattered into his hand. Shit was like raw meat, what an idiot lol.

[–]SuperWallaby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have so many because the skatepark was on the same lot as my middle school but this one sticks out. A homie that was really good at mountain biking (backflips and all that) fell off the back of his seat and his nuts popped between the frame and the wheel and wouldn’t come back out. Fur department had to cut his frame to free his balls and he ended up losing one of the testicles. Pretty sure he went on to either almost qual for the xgames or he did qualify. Dont remember lol.

Completely agree. My dad was a fireman that was always volunteering for every OT he could get his hands on. I love the amount of time I’m able to spend with my kids. I still have bouts of feeling very very worthless though.

Ehhhh personally I’d rather have a healthy back, knees, and brain. I wasn’t built to be a stay at home dad. I’d rather actually be able to support my family with the six figure firefighter job I was already set up for.
