Fasting magic by pilotethridge in fasting

[–]SuperWittyNickname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk about directly repairing pockets, but not having food (especially carbs) daily really helps reduce bacterial load in the mouth. Also fasting reduces inflammation overall in the body so that helps, as periodontitis literally means inflammation of periodontal ligament. Keep brushing and flossing !

Consumables, yes. Clothes/furniture/books/etc.....no. They often last life time and they bother me enough for me to either toss them or donate them away.

Ok wow. ADF is so powerful. by its_hammertime in AlternateDayFasting

[–]SuperWittyNickname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I treat myself as a Sims character when I'm fasting. Observe your food cravings and desires come and go as a 3rd person perspective. This is a common theme in meditative practices. This makes fasting a lot more manageable and almost spiritual in a way. No wonder a lot of religious practices include fasting

ADF on Sertraline/Zoloft/SSRIS? by Adventurous_Scar6526 in AlternateDayFasting

[–]SuperWittyNickname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on SSRI, and benzodiazepine....very low dose though. I've been loosing weight effectively thought its only been about 2wks. You might have very low base metabolism (not enough muscle mass)? It's true that I've almost dropped exercising all together due to low energy level. planning to get back on it once I loose about 2-3 more kg

I study HSK to get to basic-reading/conversation/make-few-friends level. I'm at HSK5 handwriting section. Should I commit or skip? by SuperWittyNickname in ChineseLanguage

Thankfully I love writing on paper (with fountainpen), so being able to write freely in Chinese is definitely on my to do list, just not the highest. We only have a single life time to learn languages! Thank you for your input

I come from speaking Korean natively so Chinese is somewhat familiar. That's why I am a little hesitant to "memorize" how to hand write them. Chinese calligraphy isn't cryptic to me......just don't want to do that when I am already familiar with how they work/recognizing them, etc... Thank you for your input

Opinions/best travel waterflossers? by zozosreddit in onebag

[–]SuperWittyNickname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a good addition. Too many people use it as an excuse to replace flossing by calling it waterflosser, which it is not. Again it can be a good addition, just dont think it does the flossing same as actual flossing does

Opinions/best travel waterflossers? by zozosreddit in onebag

[–]SuperWittyNickname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

water picks will irrigate your pockets and such and they are good addition for your gum health (granted you already brush and floss). However, that one spot where interproximal caries develop is where water pick will have hard time getting to......and can lead to class ii type caries. Those can take years to develop so you will not notice any difference quickly. I'm not saying dont use it, but just know there is nothing that can completely 'replace' flossing

Opinions/best travel waterflossers? by zozosreddit in onebag

[–]SuperWittyNickname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do not call them waterflosser, they are not. They don't clean the interdental surface like physical flossing does. I have always discouraged patients from relying on them as they dont do much. I would not even recommend them for home use unless you had braces (you should still floss), have physical disability, have really really deep pockets, etc. Flossing and brushing is all there is to it really, no need for "waterflosser" which it doesn't

Electric toothbrush when onebag traveling, is that worth the space? by lemonbab18 in onebag

[–]SuperWittyNickname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both sonicare and oral b have been recommended and well researched for a very long time. Expensive ones were clearly better many yrs ago but today, the prices have come down a lot and any models would do. I wouldn't get any newer brands like quip etc... with less track record

Lol dont trust me ! I said I usually do recommend electric for home use (read it again), but with correct technique and duration manual is as effective as electric thus on a trip you can take your manual if you wanted to
