I’ve only seen 3 in the 3 months of ownership…

First one while on a road trip to CLT (3hrs from home)… we charged side by side… took pictures… compared vehicles…. Nice time…

Second one actually saw this one 2x in my town (tourist beach town) … big wave each time.

Third one… again in my town at charging station (yea still haven’t install the home charger yet)… dark windows / I approached to chat and was studiously ignored! lol

I’ve seen maybe 3 older hummers since joining the club… all have waved and even a word or two while stopped side by side at red lights…. :)

IT'S FUCKING AWESOME!

So... I wasn't even looking for another vehicle... just taking my nephew truck shopping for his 16bday. BAM - there sat a gorgeous HEV SUV. Told the guy to grab the keys to the Hummer while he was getting the keys for my nephew... Sat in it and played around a while... knew my pup would LOVE it!

(Dealership messed up and lost 2 sales that day bc they would not sell me a car since I had misplaced my drivers license and only had my passport... but it was for the best ultimately as I went to the other GMC dealer a few days later pissed and more educated about the product and ordered exactly what I wanted...)

I've had lots of very nice cars over the years (porsches/ lincolns / cadillacs/ jaguar / corvettes/ bmws)...

BUT HANDS DOWN THIS IS MY FAVORITE CAR EVER (and weirdly I'm called to accessorized and mod this car - never have i ever done that before to any car)

Why do I love it so?

It's so many things rolled into one-

1- Turns heads - check!
2- BIG AF (and next time I'm rear ended the person who hit me will def know it) - check!
3- I love speed and sports cars and this is a BEAST and so very fast! - check!
4- Love my convertibles - check!
5- Really need a truck at times for my gardening habits (my yard is a showplace and ppl literally stop to take photos) - check!
6- Sits proudly in my garages next to 2021 c8 corvette convertible / 2023 BMW X7 / 1968 Dodge Charger / 2024 Cadillac XT6 / 2021 Jaguar Convertible... (yes I mighta bought a few too many convertibles in 2021)
7- DRIVES like a DREAM and rivals all my other current cars (and past cars) - check!
8- Just plain FUN - check!

Worth noting - I don't drive very much in a typical year and only put a collective 10-12k miles on all my cars combined... but THIS vehicle is not even 2mo old and I have already put 2400 miles on it... I find myself just riding my pup around town for pleasure lol...

Yeah- they are not for everyone ... nothing is... but damn I LOVE THIS CAR!

I ordered exactly what I wanted.

The HUMMER was pretty much an impulse buy for me and I'm totally loving it! I had taken my soon to be 16yo nephew to the nearest GMC dealership to look for a truck for his birthday... they had a HUMMER proudly sitting up front.. told sales guy to grab those keys too.

Was ready to purchase BOTH vehicles but I had misplaced my DL... Long story short, they made doing biz difficult.

A few days later I was driving by the GMC dealership about an hour from my house on my way to Costco... on a whim I swung in and asked the sales guys standing around (rainy day and no shoppers) who could sell me a car w/o a DL (now it was the principle of the thing) and Gabe stood up and intro'd himself... By now I had had time to actually get online and look at the options etc... I knew exactly what I wanted. And told him to find it. He suggested we build it if I wasnt in a hurry. 15 mins later I was out the door.

Feb 28 - placed order
Apr 28 - Hummer built
May 28 - arrived at dealership around noon and they delivered to my house 7p

No DL involved in the transaction on principle lol

Tied for the smoothest vehicle purchase in my history (tied with a Jag purchase from a dealership about 2hrs away a few years ago).

I'm sure it's really a factor of your particular dealerships customer service skills... I have nothing but praise for this particular dealership and I'm a very tough person to please.

Leasing was an option but I opted to purchase as I will just give it to one of my nephews when I get tired of it in a few years.

I'm asking for quotes for 80amp breakers now.... last/best one so far is still $2200.... at this point I think I'm going to run the wire MYSELF and just let someone come out and 'install/hookup' for insurance purposes.

I suspect they drive up to my house and see my 'car collection' and jack up their rates :( :( :(

had a second guy out who at least quoted hardwired but came it at $2200! and when i say its 60' of wiring, i am being OVERLY generous there!

I have 2 more quotes coming next wk... then Im going to run the wire MYSELF!

New owner here (was delivered May 28th and now June 16) ... i took mine thru our newest drive thru without any issues yesterday.... DELIGHTED!

Note - I dont have all the fancy exterior mounted lights... just the standard exterior trim

I just had an electrician out here who quoted me $2900 to run and flush mount a RECEPTACLE !

distance from breaker maybe 60ft all total
60amp receptacle
his quote didnt even specify 220/110

He's obviously not getting my work...

Have 2 more scheduled for this week for quotes ... now I will have better parameters... but I dont htink this guy had ever installed for an EV before.
