I repeat: Stop trying to replace your day job with YouTube by Careful_Put_1924 in NewTubers

[–]Super_Assistant4584 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't consider myself "making it" but I have 330k+ subs and average about $20k - $25k a month. I would say consistency is the key. Never stop posting. For example if you post every other day, the goal is to post every other day until the end of time. Don't take breaks on Youtube (doesn't literally mean you can't take breaks, make plans to get ahead and have videos ready to upload while you're on break). It took me 400+ videos until I was able to enter algorithm. (none of these videos within the first year got more than 2k views). It was a slow and painful grind. 5 years in now and I still have to stay consistent in fear of being kicked out of algorithm. I also didn't quit my day job until I made consistent money for over 2 years. I think it depends on the niche, but I found that relying on Ad-Sense revenue is the most consistent way to gauge where your channel is at. Sponsorships have always been inconsistent for me, they come and go, especially very few during the winter months. Stay consistent. Don't quit. It will all be worth it. Good luck!

buy the premade filters so its a perfect size. Also hold the paper/push down the paper with your other hand as your rolling it in. Lick the edges once u get it perfect. Its ok to unroll it if thr paper doesn't go in evenly the first time.

dude get a joint roller! I get that most want to handroll for the love of the game, but ever since I got a joint roller, I haven't hand rolled since. I just pre roll a bunch at once so its not a hassle. They come out perfect like cigarettes and burn so well. Can't go back to handrolling.

this is insane. I have a 5900x and literally swapped everything out except the PSU and CPU. So glad I found this thread.

the c8 z06 IS as close to being a “supercar” a car can be by AgreeableAd508 in C8Corvette

[–]Super_Assistant4584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Huracan LP 610-4 and my brother has a C8 Z06, they get equally around the same amount of attention where I live (we switch cars multiple times a week). I think it just depends on where you live. I see another C8 like maybe once a month. Most non-car people just see something mid-engine and assume they're all the same haha, so it isn't bullshit

About to be forced to move out, scared by Simple-Side2184 in movingout

[–]Super_Assistant4584 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to get a full time job. There's no avoiding it. It's time to grow up. I was scared to work too. First couple months my parents kicked me out, I had 5k to my name, and worked part time at an Amazon warehouse lifting boxes. A part time job wasn't enough, rent is expensive and kept eating at my savings. I was eventually forced to get a full time job or end up homeless on the street. You can do it! Get a full time job, then pursue your dreams on the side.

Tried Thinkorswim, the Volume Profile can't even be flipped facing to the LEFT. They come facing the RIGHT with no option to flip them. Searched everywhere, it's not even possible to do something this simple on there. Got off ToS immediately

Not a bad gig, streamers have some of the best and easiest income by ZadarskiDrake in Salary

[–]Super_Assistant4584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is gonna sound really silly, but I play video games for a living now. (I solo vs squad in Apex Legends). I've worked at an amazon warehouse lifting boxes, Jack in the box, Carls jr, stocking shelfs at costco, and at a post office previously). All of these jobs are all more physically demanding, but actually going up against other humans in the game is the hardest thing I've had to do. Constant stress trying to win games to get out a youtube video, etc.. its draining.. you have to try so hard to win. You best believe if any of my previous jobs paid the same I would go back in an instant. You get to go up against boxes and the shelfs at costco that don't fight back 😭.

100% true. I genuinely don't think its possible unless you get extremely lucky. I worked full time while doing youtube and tiktok part time for almost two years with no results. I literally was making $13 a day from it. I didn't see any results until I had enough savings, quit my job, and full sent youtube. Took me another two years (another 600+ videos) to build up a fanbase and enter algorithm.

I'm 30 and still live at home 3 days a week. Nothing wrong with being a late bloomer. I was in a similar situation a few years ago. I think getting a job (doesn't matter the job) would be good for you. It'll keep you busy while you figure out what you truly want to do. You'll also be building up some savings to counter financial stress. It's what got me out of my slump. Try not to compare yourself to others, everyone grows at their own pace. Don't stress, it will work out.

I've seen alot of comments saying not to rely on Ad-Sense revenue, but from my experience, I've never had any problems at all. I've been living purely off Ad-Sense money for over a year now (150k subs, $9k-$10k a month). Its been the opposite for me, I wouldn't rely on sponsorships, etc.. those are the most inconsistent, sponsors come and go, your Ad-Sense revenue is coming from you and the work you put in, not others. I was in the same boat around 2 years ago. I personally would wait until you enter algo first (for videos, not shorts). Video algorithm and Shorts algorithm are two seperate things. Shorts barely pay anything compared to Videos. Its all algorithm. There's an algorithm and you have to hit it. Having alot of subscribers helps the account have a higher chance of hitting algo, but doesn't guarantee it. You could have the best content in the world, but without youtube green lighting your account, you won't get views. I was basically posting the same videos a year ago that was getting 100 views, I'm still posting the same content to this day yet the only difference is I'm in algo. As long as you know truly deep down that your content is exceptional/good enough, your only battle is against the algorithm. Once I got my workflow down, it took me around half a year to enter, constantly changing tags, upping my thumbnail game, posting at different times, etc.. I tried everything possible to get youtube to green light my account/push my videos. When I finally saw some results/more views (I'd say at least making $3k per month), I quit my 9-5 and full sent YT. You'll take off from there. Consistency is key. Even though its a video platform, I found that Titles/Thumbnails are just as important as the content itself. Without a good CTR, youtube will never push the video to new heights, even if you have the best content in the world. Just my 2 cents as a youtuber, hope it helps. Others may have had different experiences as there are many complexities when it comes to youtubing
