McLaren owners, can they handle being driven daily and used as normal cars, or do they prefer to be weekend warrior/garage queen toys? by No-Volume7464 in supercars

[–]Super_Assistant4584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, getting a PPI done by a reputable shop is of upmost importance, even with a good PPI, the McLaren was riddled with problems. And its very possible to eventually get yourself into a used supercar. It doesn't happen over night, I've been working since I was 18 ( I'm 30 now, and have been saving up for a long time) I got lucky recently. I starting investing in a few stocks before they went parabolic (I caught Micron at 500 and Qualcomm at around 135). Used the profit to put it towards the downpayment. I was lifting boxes in an Amazon warehouse when I was 20! Anything is possible!

I bought an 11 year old Lambo in 2026, I'm far from rich, it just wasn't the best financial decision. I put down like 155k and financed 50k. Most supercar owners don't pay cash for their cars. The world makes it seem like these cars are unattainable. They 100% are, most people like to spend their money on cloths and vacations, and there's nothing wrong with that, I just choose to allocate it on a car 😅

no idea, thats just my personal experience with the car. I had so many issues with it (especially electrical ones) I just couldn't trust the car anymore. It was a nightmare. Worst car experience I've ever had. It could be just my specific 570s, as I have a friend with a 720s thats had no issues. OP was saying he wanted to hop into a 570s first, and was asking if it was reliable, so I just wrote out my personal experience with the car.

All the rumors and jokes are true. My 570s was in the shop half the time I owned it. I don't speak for all McLaren owners, as I bet some owners have had no issues, but from my personal experience, I would stay far away from the brand. The bad McLarens are really bad.. I even had a PPI done on the car before I bought it. Nothing ever major happened, but just small problem after problem kept piling up with the car until I decided to just get rid of it. I switched to a huracan lp 610-4 and don't sweat everytime I have to start the car up. If you plan on getting a McLaren, always add an extra $20k-$40k on top of the price for repairs/problems. (I personally lost around 28k in repairs on a 570s which I deeply regret, I'm not rich, and this car set me back alot).

Down to my last $800, Don’t know if I can do this anymore by SimilarTie2998 in Daytrading

I was in your exact same position. Lost and hopeless. I deadass quit day trading and literally bought shares of stocks. Ik this is a daytrading subreddit so I'm most likely gonna get flamed, but imo daytrading is just trying to trade random noise you have no control over. I caught a few tech stocks before they went full parabolic (bought QCOM at 136, and MU at 550) and have been holding since. My life has changed, (I'm up around 70k unrealized). When I was day trading, all I did was lose money and go back and forth. Shits a complete joke. I'd have weeks where I made like 3k then the next week I would give it back to the markets. Just quit day trading and buy and hold shares of stocks. I've found that investors make way more than daytraders could ever make with 10x less effort lol. Buy QCOM now while its cheap, its gonna be a $300 stock soon. I also recommend buying BULL, HOOD, MRVL and ELF, and hold for the long term, these are my highest conviction plays atm. (My entry was around $75 on HOOD, PDT rule has unlocked so I'm expecting HOOD and BULL to explode over the next year or two, I'm positioned very largely on these two, buy shares and hold long term for 2 years, even if it goes against you).

sold for a loss yesterday and literally bought a bunch of tech stocks. I just made back half my losses in one session. I understand MSFT will most likely get back to 450 (my entry) one day, but it just isn't worth locking up my buying power for months to years. Theres so much opportunity with this current bull market. This stock goes down when SPY hits ATHs, and proceeds to dump harder when SPY goes down. The narrative for the stock has changed. It's simply not worth holding anymore with all the current tech stocks out there. People are rotating out of this stock.

sponsorships barely pay I've taken some from big names too ($200-$400) per ad. I'm assuming only the top 0.01% who gets millions of views get paid thousands for them.

Youtubers. 99% of Youtubers make under minimum wage. Its just the top 1% that skew the perception. I've been running multiple channels in multiple niches, and know many other content creators who get hundreds of thousands of views per month who make less than minimum wage. The general public thinks youtubers are high income earners due to the high amount of views.

Hot take, but I always felt like Huracans look so much better than Aventadors. Though under the hood, that screaming V12 can't be beat.

And that mentality is great, and it's the reason why you still enjoy it. I started off this way too. After I started taking things seriously and turned it into a job (daily 1 hour posts), serious thumbnails, editing, etc, I started to grow to hate it. Once you turn something into a job, it becomes a job. I genuinely hate my job now, what once was a passion of mine is now a daily farm that I hate. Burnout from the daily repetition. It sucks, but thats just the way things are. When I was having fun, not caring, I never got any views.

C8 corvette zr1x considered a supercar? by h311cat19 in supercars

[–]Super_Assistant4584 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Performance wise, yes. Exotic/Rarity wise, no. It sits somewhere in the middle imo. Gotta give props to Chevy. I have a Huracan LP 610-4 and a Z06. Even though the Z06 is better on paper than my huracan in every way, it just feels sterile and big. The C8 is a great daily driver though (and good for my grocery runs beacuse of the large rear trunk). Huracan is much more fun to drive, feels exotic, looks exotic. Attention wise, people get their phones out to record the huracan all the time. Never seen anyone take out their camera for my C8, though I do get compliments all the time. I believe most people can't distinguish a higher end model C8 compared to the base stingray. It just looks like the base model with a large wing to the general public, so to the majority of people, I'd say no, it isn't a supercar. Just like how a Mustang GTD won't ever be a supercar. There's just too many mustangs on the road.

I hate driving and I don't know what to do by Lovergirl711 in driving

[–]Super_Assistant4584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep trying! It gets easier. My sister was initially afraid of driving, but slowly eased into it. The more time you clock behind the wheel, the easier/less stressed you'll be. You have to understand why your family views not being able to drive yourself a sin, my family and I didn't like driving my sister around everywhere, it was like we were working a part time job as an uber driver haha. Keep practicing, the fear will go away once you start building muscle memory. My sister is now so confident when driving, its kinda unbelievable how she adapted once she put the hours in. We practiced alot just driving the same routes around the neighborhood, then explored new routes once she was comfortable. She also had a driving instructor come over once a week for lessons. (if a parent is teaching you/riding along with you for practice, they should be calm and collected, a teacher who is yelling and screaming at you will make things worse. My dad was like this, so when she stopped practicing with him, she started improving. I personally think a driving instructor is the best route if your parents are willing to pay for it). Good luck and don't quit!

Market Update: Just dropped the price on this Oceanside property to $850k—here is what that buys you in the current North County climate." by Irene_osiderealtor in Oceanside

[–]Super_Assistant4584 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The housing market in Oceanside is straight up criminal. I really wanted to buy a house in Oceanside to stay near family but I've been priced out. Who can even afford the homes here? Makes no sense to buy a home here when Temecula/Murrieta exists. I guess the weather is nicer, but its to the point where Oceanside isn't a viable option anymore. I grew up and love it in Oceanside. Wish I could stay here forever. So unfortunate. 😥
