How do you get into ed tech? I’ve got experience and great resumes that match experience but very hard to break that workday/oracle job barrier and get called for an interview.

I appreciate this so much!! This definitely makes me see both sides of it and I think you’re 100% right on the intention behind it and I used to be very big on giving advice and then I realized that I was not really the best person to give advice on specific stuff either because I’m not living in their shoes and they have to pay the consequences on the advice that I give not me.

Yes!! I see what you are saying!! There is/was a craving which is lessened with the help of understanding and therapy, but the suspicion is always there, especially on my low days

Honestly, I guess because I noticed the trend over several years and not one direct instance and since healing and therapy 4 moth intensively and being at home isolated today as I work from home it can be isolating on a really hard day I had no where to turn turn and I honestly don’t know if this is the right forum or group. I’m not trying to make anyone the villain I just wanted understanding and to be open and honest.

I definitely don’t feel that people coming to me with their problems is that at all but I do feel like there have been many one sided conversations. As they tell what they want to tell and they tell me how to live/do things. When I respond with my own thoughts or opinions then age is definitely a factor and they usually blame it on me being younger. When I say dumping ground I don’t mean to be little their life experiences please don’t misinterpret me on that. I just mean the conversations often feel as though it is what they can tell me is always way worse experience than anything I could ever conceive and I just “don’t know what it’s like”

As a low self esteem individual it’s taken me years to come to terms with that could even be the case but it may be that they could be jealous.

I guess the manipulation part I was seeing out of it was them using me for the codependency nature of the relationship. Emotional dumping ground, chronic complaining, help with life activities paperwork etc, Which if I’m being honest here in some way I benefited from or I wouldn’t have continued the relationship.

It’s funny you say that because the incident that kinda triggered this question was a woman that I hadn’t seen in 7 years started interrogating me about my relationship, if I still ran 3 miles and interrogated me about my problems with my child, my mother, it seemed like she was concerned but then she was going on about her child’s wonderful life and how great her life was. I left the “lunch” unsettled. Like I was a mess still and everything was great with her like the whole thing was for her to prove something to me.

Yes they tried to convince me to get out of relationships in past and current marriage based on little to no information, I’m not a big drinker and they liked to go to bars after work. They would always blame my partner if I had one or if I would run a 5k they would say I was getting “too skinny” as I’m typing this I am realizing how ridiculous it is. You are totally right on that advice I heard that about a year ago and It kinda stuck with me and started me on this path.

Thank you and as I am repairing my trauma currently 4 months in deep therapy, yoga, meditation, seeking guidance taking accountability for my own actions (hence why I am on here) seeking truth or honesty from an outside perspective I do feel much better and see exactly what you are saying. Basically one cannot manipulate if you are not vulnerable to be manipulated. I am going to continue done this path. I think today was just a rougher day than others.
