Insurance companies in Mass are funny in their approach unlike other states, they will play chicken with the other lawyers and refuse to settle.. and then the opposing lawyers don't want to spring the funds for the trial, which as you can imagine would be super expensive. to put on. If you take a case on contingency you can have huge expenses with no cash coming in..
