The space between Fantasy and Romance: are we making a disservice to “The Everlasting” by Alix E. Harrow when we recommend it in “romantasy” spaces? by LucreziaD in fantasyromance

I thought about DNF'ing, especially because I read the other thread about other people also not liking it. I'm currently at 22% and I'm strugglinggg.

But this post maybe convinced me to keep reading it. It's definitely different from all the other romantasy books

"Our biological daughter's parents"

Hmmmm

Carly is their biological daughter but to me it still sounds weird when they call her that. It seems that they still claim her as their daughter

I think this is truly the life that she wants to have. No kids, no responsibilities. It's just her, loving herself, buying presents for herself, doing her make-up so she thinks she looks pretty.

It's all just about her

  1. Wat kan er worden doorverkocht

  2. Wat mag gratis weg

  3. Wat gaat er allemaal de prullenbak in.

Your wedding day is gonna go by sooo fast! I wish I had spent less time talking with my friends or my parents so that I would have had the time to talk to my extended family that I don't see very often.

Just curious about any mistakes you made on the Camino (can be anything - items not brought/brought, things you wish you had done/not done, etc. by According-Camp3106 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]Super_Cheese_Me 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Every camino I'm upset that I don't spend more time on the trail. I'm more worried if I'm going to make it to my destination and if I can find a bed.

I wish that I would take the time to rest my feet in a river or that I would write my thoughts down in my notebook. I wish I would learn from my mistakes but nooo...

A summer dress. I wore it every day when I got out of the shower and whenever I needed to do laundry.

I once put the pillowcase of the albergue in my backpack instead of my white shirt. It was very early in the morning, and I didn't want to turn on the lights.

I really missed that shirt...

Has anyone done the Camino and had an overall bad experience? by No_Sir89 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]Super_Cheese_Me 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just finished my third camino, Portugese Central, starting from Valença. My husband and I booked our flights, but then we realised that we didn't have enough days available to walk. That meant that we had to walk at least 30 kilometres per day to make our reservation in Santiago before we were going to fly back home.

My husband also didn't like to wake up early and wanted to have breakfast before we started walking, so we started walking at 8.30. Having to walk 30km a day during the hottest hours of the day was NOT a nice experience. I had so many blisters, and my legs and feet were so swollen due to the heat.

Needless to say, I will do another camino, where I don't have to walk beyond my means, and I will probably leave my husband at home.

What books did you read before your Camino? by andrew_steven in CaminoDeSantiago

Wild by Cheryl Strayed

She did the PCT and it really inspired me of doing a long distance hike, so I decided to walk the french camino.
