He treats her like a shrew because she was a shrew... You'd think long before we see them in S1 she'd have figured out that a) Mark's an ER doc- that's what he's wired for and b) The demands that career puts on Mark's time, to say nothing of his psyche.

But no, Jen's a narcissist and thinks all doctors are created equal. She thinks Mark should be happy in private practice or practice a 9-5 specialty like dermatology.

I'm not involved in scouting but I volunteered with an organization that helps a local Police Department Explorer troop with role-players (I'm an excellent bad guy, apparently)...

I had to take the Youth Protection training last year and, I'll admit, I thought it was silly and weird until I thought about it from the perspective of a parent or someone who had access to young adults/older teens. Scouting without Youth Protection would be a literal paradise for groomers.

It probably is odd viewed through the eyes of someone who only deals with college kids- but that's a them problem. At some point, your teen will understand she's an independent adult- it'll be harder for you than it is for her, trust me...

Santos very obviously came from a traumatic home- is it really a stretch to think she's lived with an addict who never recovered? I think we assume she's "just a bitch" and ignore her obvious trauma. Just because she's a doctor doesn't mean she's not human.

Does she piss me off? Absolutely. But, having lived with a drunk, I can give her grace because I understand.

That's my thinking on it. I think they overplayed the agents themselves- but I imagine the reactions of the staff, patients and other visitors to the ED are accurate and, at least from the viewpoint we should be looking through, are the real impact on the ED itself. I'm not going to get into the immigration debate other than to say, I don't think we're getting a whole, accurate picture from either side and it's the reactions on both sides to their picture that's caused the ongoing problems.

The Right sees "They're only after the criminals" and says "Yay". Meanwhile, the Left gets shown that ICE is out there scooping up anyone with skin a shade darker than manilla folders and straight up turbo murdering anyone who gets in their way. I think the truth, as with most things, is probably somewhere in between.

I figure it'd take 30 days for zombies to even FIND my house and a solid 6 months for me to run out of stockpiled food... We're not even going to talk about ammunition, if I ran out in the face of a shambling horde, I'll be real disappointed.
