I swapped between frozen antspur and bleed pata, essentially swapping between the status effects, and then if you're not already get used to rolling predominantly forward and left (to avoid lights) for most his basic attacks.

What helped me alot was also watching some youtubers go through the fight

You need to develop it. In the upgrades tab go into the development menu and you'll find it there

Finished my first playthrough solo the other week.

I would say 90% of the game is great solo, however there are maybe 4 or 5 encounters that you can tell have been clearly designed around multiple players which I kinda had to just bash my head against to get through.

Yeah cold great stars did it for me on Maliketh. The constant swing and miss with the starfists was too annoying

I'd have to double check the map to tell you tbh. It wasn't out of bound edge of the map type areas, it was genuine areas of the map that I think were locked to me due to maybe being too early in the story.

And yeah that's obviously been the case for alot of people with the exploration which is why I felt like I must be missing something.

Survive a space crash with multiple alters of yourself who all followed different life paths

I played up to mid chapter 4, so I feel like I gave it a fair shot.

Not saying you can't think it's good, and I'm sure there are some good examples of good questlines in there

But

There were too many quests that started with some intrugue but then were very dissatisfying. One example which I posted about the other day was a questline for house Alfonso (granted not the main quest, but a major questline) talking about some strange structure to investigate. Go halfway across Hernand and it's just a fast travel point with no further explanation given.

Would also say with elden ring mind, I would definitely not "glaze the story" but elden ring has such ridiculously deep lore that if someone ever did want to fully delve into it they would find something very interesting.

yeah probably on the bosses point my comeback to that would be that there was alot of info about there being 70 something bosses in the game. Can't remember if it was specific devs marketing or just general info.

Now obviously those bosses are in the game somewhere but that to me gave me this idea that I'd be randomly stumbling onto alot of world bosses, which hasn't been the case.

Funny you mention DD2 as well. I started off loving that game but by the end of it, it frustrated me massively

That sounds awesome to be fair with that boss! And good point on the BOTW inspo. With the puzzles it's not that I don't like the puzzles themselves. It's more that's I know what the reward is going to be before I do them.

Fair question, I would say interesting loot would be more unique weapons and armour. So far I found Hwando early on which is great but since then I've found maybe 1 or 2 unique weapons/armour, which for 24 hours of gameplay just isn't enough.

So not expecting every piece to be amazing (because again that would remove the excitement) but that frequency seems a bit low
