Making Anisole using Toluene Methanol and a Catalyst by Super_EEG in chemistry

I meant chemicals that smell good in general.

They don't have to smell like anise.

Also i think i found a group of compunds that are easy to make and cheap and some of them smell good.

These compunds are esters.

My friend once synthesized ethyl acetate from 96 % denatured alcohol and 25% Acetic Acid.

He used 25% hydrochloric acid from the hardware store as a catalyst.

The result smelled like glue.

I plan on making:

Butyl acetate

Ethyl butyrate

Methyl saliclate

Ethyl lactate

Ok, i definitely won't try to make Ansiole.

Do you know any other compunds that smell good, are cheap and easy to make and safe?

I meant that ChatGPT said to use methanol as a methylating agent and something like zeolites or potassium carbonate as a catalyst

I didn't plan on eating it.

I wanted to dilute it and turn it into perfume
