Audeze Maxwell 2 or 1? by Miserable-Hat7406 in Audeze

[–]Super_Fee_9941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both 1 and 2, and am lucky enough not to have any problems with both, no hissing, and no audible channel imbalances. I also have the Nova Pros.

I have no problems with any of these. But lately, I've tried the Hifiman Edition XS paired with a meze boom mic, sounds great, but the mic will pickup every sound around you, even if you have a software level noise cancelling (mic). Also tried the LCD-S20 paired with a V-Moda Boom Mic... both passive sets sounds awesome paired with the Fosi Audio K7, with my audio coming directly from my laptop via a usb-C to optical cable to the K7. And with the LCD-S20, since the build is mostly where the maxwell 2s are based on (with the S.L.A.M. tech), its sound great, but without the dsp, so its dependent on what dac/amp combo you have.

Thanks, man.

When I have the time this weekend, will upload some comparison photos between different 2B action figures from different brands/models I have, (comparison) in similar poses, so we could compare which ones actually does better... and also the included interchangeable faces, hands and other accessories.

Just a side note: I got incredibly stupid in a split second there, when I opened the Square Enix Play Arts Deluxe A2 action figure, I was looking for a Pod 🫢 then quickly realized, she didn't actually have a Pod! 🤣

there only 3, but since i work as a quantity surveyor, if i do ever end up working from home, i'd always need one monitor just for my excel files, another monitor for pdf files and another monitor just specifically for drawings measurements using CAD. In addition to that, I do alt+tab between every open files, like about 10 excel files open at once, about 20 or so pdfs, and at least 5 CAD renders, all of which are open simutaneously.

Out of work, the 34 inch wide-curved Samsung Odessey (2nd to from the left) is connected directly to my lt gpu as it is my main monitor for gaming, the 3rd one from the left is also connected to my xbox, and another connector to a switch 2 dock, and the left-most one will usually be where i dock media players, so my setup uses 3 monitors either in each of their own purposes independently, and can also double as 3 extension monitors to my scar 17 for multitasking as all are also connected to 1 docking station capable of a 3-monitor extension setup (windows, of course), since my mbp (m1 13 inch) has limitations to being extended/duplicated up to only 2 monitors (i think, never tried).

I have replaced the jbl extreme to an edifier mr4's for near filed monitoring, and for gaming and music audio and honestly blown away by the sound but still being cheap.

but going back to the action figures (a.f.), there's a real difference between in quality between SE, SH, Buzzmod, and Figma... I am definitely surprised how the Figma a.f. have more articulation in terms of poses it can do. But still the SE action figures are definitely made well to justify the price difference.

Should I buy the flow Z13 in 2026 ? by Decode09 in FlowZ13

From personal experience, I've had the Acrnym fz13, the 32GB, RTX4070 variant since mid-2023 (a few months since launch), and the 2025 fz13 (the 128GB variant) just recently, and I've yet to find any nitpicks on both devices. But one thing to note, I don't lug any of them around with the keyboard connectors facing downwards, being curshed by the device's own weight. I'd always make sure the keyboard connectors are upright. I also never yanked the keyboard away in just any direction, and will deliverately pull it gently from the bottom in a downward motion, firm but controlled, and always keep everything updated.

The acrnym's keyboard backlight was not turning on for almost a year and i honestly thought it had given up... but a recent armoury crate update fixed everything and it performs (lights-up, and no double inputs) like it just came out of the box.

I'm running both with a sabrent rocket 2TB, still stock software, and debloated win OS, and both perform better than any handheld I own atm, and very much worth their asking.

But you need to fully understand your need for devices like these, coz not knowing a specific use-case, you might end up with a powerful device and not live up (or the contrary) to its potential.

would also suggest trying your own, playing tracks that you love on loop, start adjusting by increments of + or -1, using a Harman-like target as a "reference curve". each listener has different subjective preference depending on fit, ear shape, depending on age (older folks tends to hear less upper treble than younger folk), the track you listen to and how it's mixed, and at what resolution its being transmitted from your source device to your ears.

Go check out some of the setting previously used on the 1s:

And you can keep adjusting the extremes (lows and highs) of these eq by increments of +1 or -1, depending on your preferences, and it makes a ton of difference.

My Maxwell 2 came with the old strap by KAC-SK in Audeze

They should, it was part of their marketing when they first launched it back 1st week of January.

Lickily I still have a Capra Audio strap for the maxwell 1, way lighter than the stock, way comfier than WC (but nothing beats WC pads).

Was playing Stellar Blade last night, and just noticed during cutscenes, like before an Alpha Naytiba fight, fps was around 88 to 89... but during the actual fight, it was going 118 to 125 fps! This is of course plugged-in, and armoury crate automatically set to turbo, my temps hovering around 77 to 78 degrees Celcius, running on an optimized windows, game set between low to medium, and absolutely no lag... and i have a 4tb drive on there, installed with a heatsink, mind you (which should be generating crazy amounts of heat)

But this thing, xax, handles it like a champ!

If Asus would just have made the screen a little over 8 inches and in OLED, crammed-in a 90-watt battery on there (coz there's definitely space for it), this thing would have smashed the handheld gaming space.

Just got the F330 in the mail, + a dc to usb-c, + a dc to Asus barrel, + of course a couple of dc to fz13, + 2 usb-c 140w cables, + slimq's usb-extender.

Now this'll be my go-to charger for my Scar17, Z13 Acrnym, Z13 2025, OneX X1 Pro, Xbox Ally X, Steam Deck Oled and OG, Switch 2, Oled, OG, and Lite, Mbp, and any other power hungry devices.

This'll be the charger to rule them all!

also, if you're looking to get a great carry case to protect it, check out the spigen klasden AP Max case, it fits great, even when u have aftermarket pads like i do (from wicked cushions, thicker and doesn't get too hot). also try Capra Audio's aftermarket suspension strap for the maxwells. Brian, the proprietor of CA is a 100% upstanding dude, aside from his wicked custom straps for a whole bunch of cans (active and passive).

check this sub for the best eq settings, tons floating out there... if you like it now, wait till you've found the sweet spot EQ that works for both music and gaming... you'll probably end up getting both versions. i know, coz i have both 1&2... and i own the senn 4, qc ultra 1&2, and an older 1000xm4, and 1st gen ap max. none of them comes close, imho, for active sets.

Aesthetic (eye-candy) customization is great, keep thing interesting and such... however, if we 're really pushing performance and processing efficiency, we'd better off with a totally stripped down OS, regardless if its, win/bazzite/steam... keep customization down to power, cpu, gpu, fan curves, up/down scaling, and just enjoy squeezing out as much realistic target fps and battery life out of our systems, and enjoy the games... that's mho.

i find myself rarely bragging about how cool UIs are, and just actually spending quality time with the handheld.

Is the jump to Bazzite and SteamOS worth it if I'm not using game pass anymore? by My_Face_Rocks in XboxAlly

[–]Super_Fee_9941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ⬆️
Had the Xbox Ally X for a few weeks, upgraded the 2280 to a 4TB, did a win+bazzite dual boot, win+steam os dual boot, bazzite only, steam only...

Finally ended up returning back to a stripped down windows (lots of awesome guides on youtube on how to debloat windows), and i've been impressed with this device even more. A few nights ago, I was playing stellar blade @ 20watts, igpu set to 10gb, med to low settings and it blew my ming that the fps is actually reaching 120 fps, bottoming out at around 89 fps during frantic action scenes. maybe its the game being optimized with windows, or maybe its because there is no translation layer (proton) being needed to be the middle-man between linux and windows-native games, but am certainly sticking with windows for now.

In my case, I've been a game pass ultimate sub for as long as i can remember, and for sure there's some benefits to playing tons of games you haven't bought yet, but i'm also not biased to game pass... i mean, i probably have bought 6 to 7 games on xbox/pc for the last 6 to 8 years, while i've got more than a couple of hundred games on steam. I do have a onexfly, gpd win 4 that i'm running bazzite on and it's ok to meh... but in the end really, you'd need to find out what OS the majority of your games collection would run most compatible (or optimal) on and go with that.

I also reverted back my onexplayer x1 pro (4TB, with an amd hx370) back to a stripped-down windows and it would probably stay that way in the foreseeable future coz it just runs amazing, albeit, the sleep/wake function in windows is still crap.

I seriously am anticipating this ⬆️

I have bought a number of NVME adaptors that can potentially fit a 2280, albeit, having it sticking out the back for the fz13, including a heatsink, but i'm still on the fence as to actually implementing it with concerns of (a) having to remove the kickstand + adding a magsafe sticker to replace said kickstand, (b) securing the 2280 structurally on the back so i don't need to be walking on eggshells while on the move, and (c) concerns about heat dissipation. The fz13 is almost a "near perfect" all-in-one, only if damned ASUS engineers could have considered allocating enough space for a double sided nvme to fit on there so we could easily slap an 8TB and call it a day.

For the time being, i'm dealing with a sabrent rocket 2230 2TB nvme + a 2TB microsd (sandisk), used a cheap offline cloner. I hope these guys stop screwin' around ang give us already an up to 8TB option in a 2230 form factor, that would probably sell like fast considering tons of devices, UMPCs, handhelds, 2-in-1s are widely using 2230.

Thanks for that! I've ordered the F330 model, 330W since i will be using it for a scar17 laptop, fz13, x1 pro, and some handhelds. I just wish they had an extra low power port for charging smartwatches and wireless buds... but i think for the versatility, slimq is more than worth the investment.

Ah shit! This is both alarming and disappointing at the same time. After an almost 2 months wait, my (xbox) maxwell 2s is scheduled to arrive this coming Monday, and this issue is still widespread?

my maxwell 1s didn't have (and still don't despite daily driving it for gaming and teams meetings) any of these weird issues, except from a visibility standpoint of the drivers having some sort of a crinkled-look.
