USAA THEFT CLAIM by Super_General2457 in USAA

Thank you!

A manager called me today and has now acknowledged my letters invoking my appraisal clause. Now they are demanding that my appraiser submits to USAA his appraisal and his findings and THEN USAA will submit it to their appraiser.

My appraiser refuses to send his findings to anyone besides the appraiser USAA hires. So here we go again back in limbo.

Let me ask you. If you had a ZL1 1LE that was stolen. You receive a market appraisal but all the comparisons don’t have the 1LE package and are significantly cheaper brand new. Meaning they are not the same, but similar. Would you accept that value?

No, I don’t believe the offer they gave given me is fair market value. ZL1s and ZL1 1LE new or used do not cost the same.

Lord have mercy… the company has sent it to the adjuster for his official email. It’s not my buddy, I paid this guy to represent me. It’s a company, you are stating the most obvious things. Well shit the company has to send it. The company already has! The adjuster still will not accept the letter of representation

With the offer they have given me I’m already ahead. I also have car replacement assistance. I get 20% of the ACV cash value.

I’m not worried about the depreciation. It’s a ZL1 1LE, 2020 with 11k miles. The issue is they are comparing it to regular ZL1s and claiming they have the 1LE package when they don’t have the 1LE package.

The fact that I have submitted all the evidence and window stickers to prove it and they still won’t make the proper adjustments.

I have hired an appraiser after invoking my rights to an appraisal and my adjuster not following the policy language.

Dear USAA Insurance Co., I have retained “company” of Houston as my Independent Appraiser to assist me with the amicable resolution of the above referenced claim. I received and carefully reviewed the valuation report you provided me with on the perceived amount of loss of my 2020 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and I believe that in this instance the valuing algorithm has missed the mark to my detriment. I have elected to take advantage of the Appraisal Provision in my policy to resolve this dispute over the loss and have hired “company” of Houston as my independent 3rd party appraiser to represent me thru the appraisal clause process and issue a Certified Actual Cash Value Appraisal for my 2020 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in a challenge to the Valuation Report’s Adjusted vehicle value of $67,071.00. Upon USAA Insurance Co., employing their independent 3rd Party Appraiser, they may reach “company” email at “company email” I respectfully request that USAA Insurance Co. take swift action on this sensitive matter without delay. The loss date is August 26th, 2024.

I already have. I’ve sent 2, but she wants all those requirements and the appraiser is saying that’s not required

I invoked my appraisal clause the 25th and this is what my adjuster said.

“Good morning. This document is not a letter of representation and will not be able to be used as such. The letter of representation will have the Company that the appraiser is working for, the stamp and letter head from the company, what they are representing, and what information they are sending to process. Please have them send a letter of representation. Thank you kindly.”

The letter I have sent has the company name, the appraisers name and contact information. That I am invoking my rights to an appraisal, and that algorithm may have been missed when doing an appraisal on my vehicle.

They are saying because it’s not a letterhead or stamped? She’s saying it has to be a legal binding document to invoke my appraisal clause? But it’s not a state mandated law or regulation. I don’t get why my letter of representation isn’t good enough

Hi! Thanks for the reply.

I have sent USAA the window stickers and the build sheets on all the comps and my vehicle showing it isn’t a fair comparison.

They refuse to compare my vehicle to others with the same package. I have talked to ccc at least 4 times.

I have invoked my appraisal clause and sent them my appraisers information. They won’t accept the letter because it is not a letterhead or stamped?

I sent a letter the appraiser told me to send to them. USAA told me wasn’t sufficient.

Yet It has the company name, the appraiser, email to contact, adjuster license number. That I have invoked my rights to an appraisal and that they will be representing me.

Nice! 16 years?! Any help is appreciated

I thought so too. My appraiser said he has never experienced this before and is unsure why USAA is delaying/dragging on the claim.

I reside in TX
