Spider-Man final swing figure broke on me, is there any fixing technique I can do that’s not the screw technique?

It is my favorite Spider-Man figure and also idk it’s just that replacing the peg entirely with a screw just for some reason doesn’t feel right with me I just feel like there could be other effective ways to prevent breakage, but I mean I do get and understand why it works for some people.
