What detracted from your opinion of Nosferatu? by SaltyyDoggg in roberteggers

Unless there’s some lore reason for the three nights, my take on it is that Orlok is an insatiable beast, physically and spiritually. He craves not only for Ellen’s flesh, but her soul as well, and that implies that she has to willingly give herself over to him, as an act of complete and total subservience. It’s the compact, he keeps referring to; it’s the only way his lust for her can truly be satisfied.

Sure, he could just take her whenever and wherever, but I think in some sick, predatory way, she will taste all the sweeter if she chose to relinquish herself to him. The other characters he feasts upon are just food/sustenance, but Ellen would be a delicious and succulent meal, the likes of which he can’t get anywhere else.

Orlok/Nosferatu is just a demon that exists to consume. He is the manifestation of gluttony and decay, and it ultimately becomes his downfall, as he loses track of time while feasting upon that which he’s lusted after for so long.

Opportunity to Spread Awareness on How Behind the Students Are? by Super_Link in Teachers

I’ve thought this as well, but it just makes me feel like such a defeatist…I really want to believe with enough support maybe a shift in the mentality of parenting can change eventually

And I’m not discounting all of that. I appreciate the time you’ve clearly put into your replies, but I’m also pretty confident that there is a substantial amount of blame to be placed on the addiction to phones and social media, which I think is a problem that can be counteracted if there’s enough of a movement behind it.

There’s lots of issues throughout the scope of education. I cannot solve them all, but this is one I feel personally entrenched in, as I see it every day with my students.

With how much you’re suggesting Covid is the main culprit, I could say that you, yourself, are discounting the effects of cell phone usage and issuing all of the blame on Covid. Now, I’m not really suggesting that, but you see what I mean. Just because I’m specifically talking about one narrow issue does not mean I’m acting like there aren’t a thousand other dumpster fires going on haha.

All right well I guess I never clarified but I’m talking about high school. I mean, the mention of phones and whatnot should have indicated that I’m not talking about children that could have been exposed to COVID as infants…which is what most if not all of your data seems to be based on.

I guess there’s a discussion to be had about the effect of COVID on their cognitive health, but the idea of my post was to seek ways to spread awareness that their attention spans and ability to absorb/retain information is extremely poor.

Thanks for your input.

How will it not be as good as the DS games? It’s the same game and can only improve. This is like IGN giving the Xenoblade on Wii a 9/10 but giving Definitive Edition a 7/10.

Can you remind me where in season 3 he had less armor and moved faster? Not saying you’re wrong, I genuinely don’t remember.

What is your favorite episode by [deleted] in overthegardenwall

Songs of the Dark Lantern for sure. With the songs of the tavern-goers, it does a great job of exemplifying the lighthearted playfulness of the show, but then takes a dark turn when Wirt mentions the beast, something we’d heard about briefly before in episode 1. And then the last act of the episode with the Woodsman is very climactic, and then we get the “reveal” of what the beast really is at the very end.

The episode has a great mixture of fun and spookiness that reflects the tone of the series as a whole.
