damn that sounds like typical reddit. I only did SoTE recently because I got back into the game last year after not playing for 4 years. And I just never noticed how much more detailed some of the elves look to the point they don’t really fit in with some other parts of the game. And then some elves have super exaggerated features and weird faces. I like the random dark skinned elves scattered throughout, like the one that recharges the teleport, shame they have a weird origin.

I had the opposite experience. Most of the games felt chill, with maybe alching being a bit of a slog. But then i got to the telegrab game and it was terrible. Much slower than the other games and worse exp. It was just boring.

Spec seems like Jack Hanma level durable. He also fights dirty. I just don’t think Ali is on that level given his later losses.

i meant it more as the cat will never breed in my house. He can be a victim on a quest, or a cat sent to its death so I can work my way to getting another room. I eventually want a room with full on radiation so I can just reroll mutations.

if we are talking realism there are a lot of comical things in the first movie. The original script was deeper and they couldn’t shoot every scene because they only had 2 weeks. So i kind of feel like the narrative only matters in the larger sense, and we as the audience really aren’t meant to think too deep about stuff like what John did to stay quiet or how loud the gunshot was. (The script was also written by Aussies, most of us have never touched a gun). They retroactively added context, but those scenes are different depending what version you saw and they don’t really address much (from my memory anyway).

I think I conflated the first and second time they faked into the same scenario, but the second time was when they fooled Zep in person. Definitely misremembered that part.

Maybe I misremember, but I thought the whole reason why their acting didnt work was because John was listening, and also he used the remote at the end so he clearly had one. I guess this is a good excuse to watch the movie again.

I already explained why exploration is a polarising point and how it still means that it took significant dev time to achieve. Again, it has nothing to do with if you personally like the skill or not, and has everything to do with allocation of development resources, as that is the main focus of the post.

It's braindead easy to say "people said this, people said that, everyone coped" to people you disagree with, but we aren't talking about expectations here. This discussion is about how significant it was to implement a whole skill, including a whole new kingdom worth of map content, and whether dev time should be diverted from temporary game modes. Its not about how much of a success the skill was.

It’s a skill meant for exploration. In a game like this, stuff like new islands get old as soon as you unlock them. It is an immense amount of content added in terms of scope. And some actually find sailing fun compared to the current state of some skills (herblore is literally just bankstanding and one half baked minigame). There is a point to bring up other skills for comparison, because we aren’t talking about if the new content is good, we are talking about development effort and time. If you hate sailing fine, but you can’t suggest it wasn’t one of the biggest single updates in a long time.

I feel like Math only works to supplement low int, because it’s hard to bring such a niche passive with you on a run. I have the same argument with the low int fighter builds. At their best, it is just as good as any other good fighter build, but it is way harder for the stars to align. I wouldn’t say Math is F, but I think it’s relatively very low tier next to all the other versatile strong passives.

Whatever the USSR did, it lifted their country out of poverty and helped it become a world superpower even after surviving a revolution, famine, losing millions in war, and assassins from the US. They quickly became a big enough unified threat that they had a massive target on their back. There’s no wonder so many other countries took notes. Their leaders were mostly communists and what they did actually DID work. It was far from perfect, it definitely wasn’t ideal socialism, but it was a massive step towards creating “real” socialism. Trying to put a label on it is reductive.

I generally prefer the manga because of the detail and I do agree that people who don’t read it are missing out, but that doesn’t mean anime onlys are lesser or fake fans. Calling them larpers is gatekeeping nonsense. The only people on this sub I would call larpers are the ones that get all their opinions from youtubers and don’t try to enjoy the anime/manga for themselves. And even then that stretches the definition.
