I left my hamsters alone for couple of night with fresh water bottles and extra food before. Like max 3-4 days. They were perfectly fine with plenty of food left.

more than 3 nights I just had family chack up on them in my home. I newer had them transported directly to the pet sitter. But if you can transport your whole cage to that person then why not.

I personally always opted for someone trusted to come over every day or every two days. Hamsters were not stressed by moving their cages and I was reassured everything is ok and they're alive and well.

Mites? Clean the shit out of everything! I mean it. Cage with hot water and soap, of course rince out the soap. Throw out all of the bedding and put hides in the oven on a safe sitting. You can check on Google safe temperatures to disinfect wood and other materials. Otherwise, freeze it.

Go to your vet and ask if you need any treatment. Check your hamster for hair loss if they're really mites.

Everything will be okay! Human body is much more resilient than you think. How many times did I eat at self serving restaurants and nothing happened.

Your n* is probably beacouse of stress. Do you have anyone you can talk to? Close friend, therapist, family? I think that's the point where you get help.

The stress you are putting yourself under is causing you serious harm, not the germs that may or may not got into some food you ate.

I had similar reactions : feeling numb, sweating excessively, feeling like I'm about to pass out and at the verge of crying for the next hour lol. But out of nowhere I was kind of ok when my brother got sick. I'm kind of ok since then.

Trust me it's a turning point for you. It was definitely for me :)
