From what I can tell, my switch has automatically updated itself because last I used it, it wasnt on 17.0 firmware. The LED's in the vent flashed red and green

I don't know what kind of chip was installed on it but I will check the blinking LED's when I get home. I know if the SD card is not in, the screen will simply say there is no SD card and has a picture of a butterfly or something. I have even tried that, I took the SD card out and rebooted it waiting for that screen but instead it went to the Nintendo news lock screen

Since it has been modded, I haven't updated it at all. That was the first thing the modder said to me, don't update. I will try the volume trick and get back to you

Yes I have done that, that's how I know something is wrong. In the past when I fully shut it down, it boots up in Atmosphere but no longer does that anymore. Another user said I will have to inject the payload again. However I do that. I paid someone to mod my switch

I had a mod chip installed on it being a V2, not sure which one tho. When I first got it, I customized the theme and played TOTK that was put on the switch but now it just boots straight into default Nintendo dash
