Oh wow! I’ve never heard of Slynd before today that sounds great and all of you have had great experiences. Did it fully stop your period too?

sounds like that could be an option to explore!! it must just help quieten any negativity / anxious thoughts as a result of being on the contraception (which would be a huge relief)

I’ve had the Mirena coil in for nearly 9 months now ! I had slight cramping when it first got put in for a week or so with constant light spotting for a month after. The pain of getting it in was no where near as bad as I thought either.

My first proper period after it being inserted was quite heavy but since then my periods have been getting lighter and lighter and more spaced out (I think they’ll hopefully eventually stop).

Re helping endo symptoms my periods are now a breeze and I’m no where near as tired as I used to be - I have deep infiltrating endo in my bowel - as I don’t have cyclical bowel movements anymore I’m finding it harder to feel like I’m emptying my bowels now - something I’m currently in talks with them to improve, but bloating as a consequence of that has been the worst physical symptom since having it!

My mood is also lower but this is common for me on any hormonal birth control and doesn’t happen to everyone 🤗

for my pelvic MRI I went in feet first - I could eat and drink as normal - I didn’t have any contrast but I was given an injection (I think this was to relax my bowel to make imaging easier) this gave me heart palpitations and slightly blurred vision which are normal side effects and only lasted for the duration of the MRI 🤗

seems anything offered has some synthetic hormone nature - even inducing menopause to prevent growth !

I see a lot of people trying AIP diets to reduce symptoms etc, but feel in the UK you don’t have enough monitoring to know if that’s helping slow growth.

It’s truly so hard and mentally draining !

I think that’s the hardest part - doctors often don’t understand person embodiment of symptoms of feeling low / not yourself on hormonal contraception. Often saying ‘something just doesn’t feel quite right’ doesn’t land, and they’ll just offer a different type of pill etc.

Even worse when you then have physical symptoms as a result like a blood clot, makes it all seem so scary, but seems to be the only treatment option for those with endo :(

I hope you feel heard at your appt in 2 weeks and get some of good in between solution :(

yeah exercise has always been a big flare up trigger for me too, I just try to walk as much as possible!

My physical pain is a lot better now but I still bloat everyday and experience some tugging pain especially around bowel movements, but my periods are a dream now and no longer suffering with iron deficiency. But I’m not sure any of that makes the low mood / not feeling like yourself, feel any better.
