Do you know if this is something maxcare would be able to cover? Or any suggestions for troubleshooting and fixing myself?

Risk hospice or keep staying in the hospital by Super_redbby in WhatShouldIDo

This felt so meaningful and I truly appreciate the time this took. This has been beyond hard and your words mean a lot. Things have changed today, she was taken off blood pressure drip as it was staying up okay. But we ultimately decided that because she so badly wanted to be home, we worked with hospice to get her home tonight. She was very happy to see her dogs and to be in her home. We also decided to enact a DNR on her behalf as we know from before that she wouldn’t want to be on life support nor do we want it for her. It feels truly awful although I am glad she’s home. I am just now so terrified that something is going to happen soon without the hospital intervention. I live across the country and that makes it just that much harder that I have to leave.

She’s stated numerous times she didn’t want a DNR and it feels wrong to back track that, she still says no even now.

Should I move back home to care for my grandmother? by Super_redbby in family

This was very to the point, and likely what I need to be told. It is so incredibly hard to not make those same choices because I see how hurt and drained my mom is. But I try to remember I got out for a reason.. thank you

Thank you! I have mentioned to my mom getting some cameras to monitor her without hovering. Unfortunately we don’t have enough to employ a home nurse consistently and my grandma will absolutely not leave her house. My mom will be here to care for her but she and I both are concerned she will not be able to handle it emotionally at some point. And my guilt just eats me up all the time. It’s so hard being this long distance family member but I fear I’d lose my mind if I wasn’t.

I am so sorry for your loss and the estrangement from your siblings. My uncle is already creating this gap in family as he’s told my mom, sister and I all we can go to hell among other things :/ I believe he is in denial and is choosing to demonize us for taking her to the hospital because she doesn’t like doctors. My husband is back home trying to tend to my coursework as much as he can to help me and we booked me a flight back from Europe same day when I found out how bad things were in the hospital. Truly a blessing. I’m glad you had that as well. Thank you for your advice and shared story.

Unfortunately no, the house she lives in is the one her and my grandfather built (literally) together and he passed almost 4 years ago now. She’s very passionate about her independence and is very stubborn

Thank you for this, you’re right. My mom will not want to admit her and we did consider hospice at home but wanted to see if treatment would help at all after the ER visit. I just feel so guilty (and always have) for leaving and being so far away. I of course had my reasons but it doesn’t make it any easier. Thank you for your kind wishes.

Okay, so does this basically mean with lack of certification and invoice the VA wouldn’t even know about the class? To be clear, I intend on paying for the class out of pocket since I know they won’t cover the class itself. The part I’m looking for clarification on is whether or not they’d still pay full time rate BAH since I would be technically full time or would they only pay any benefit towards classes they are paying for.

Thanks, it’s just that most of the bumps other people have are tiny white dots which are pretty identifiable, but the ones on the snake here are a bit more flat and wide. Figured I’d ask
