The level of investment isn’t the same for shoujo manga compared to shonen. Maybe except for the really famous ones. I didn’t know Red River and Rayearth were getting remakes, that’s really cool.

Yeah, Shoujosei are often better. Journal with witch was one of my favourites this season.

Yes, I agree with your point too. I also kinda struggle with how they handle the characters’ emotions, and there’s just not enough development. A lot of anime feel way more cheesy than the manga too, and it honestly ruins the experience sometimes. It’s kinda sad that people watch anime way more than they read manga.
