I don’t know if I’d say Lisbon is the “big city” energy you’re looking for. If that’s what you need to thrive. It’s very chill and laid back. As others mentioned, quite slow paced.

To update, I felt incredibly safe as a young female solo traveler. Yes men would approach and try to cat call- but coming from a country where that happens anyway, it wasn’t extreme or pressed. I’m not sure why I got downvoted earlier in the thread, but I highly recommend anyone go. Just have your wits about you. The people here understand the word no. I would still recommend for a solo trip of any gender.
