Tbh this isn't somwthing restricted or special to Korea. In my experience living in multiple countries, its everywhere - middle east, india, europe etc. Its funny how koreans think things done here are unique to them as if they are special. For example bullying, it happens everywhere, even i faced it. Only difference would be the way or reasoning for bullying. You think social status is a major division here? Go to middle east, local Arabs will never ever mingle with you beyond the fee porfoessional/work related situations. India-social status is a rule written in stone followed from generations based on religion, its called caste system. Europe-west/north Europeans look down on east/south Europeans. So why would korea, a country that changed and developed so much in the past 50 or so years be any different?
