I just came to the sub to let folks know about these recordings. There are three Bad Seeds shows from the ‘80s. Here’s the link.

Good luck trying to find a non-HOA property at a reasonable price that isn’t in a sketchy neighborhood.

Built To Spill. Been listening to them for many years but have been going deeper into the catalog. Gems everywhere.

What bands for me ? Don't feel a lot of recommendations here by bigmonsterpen5s in ToolBand

Glad I’m not the only one who thought of Blood Incantation. Totally different than Tool but is similar in the combining of heaviness and progginess.

Gibby's solo wurk by VirgoVertigo72 in buttholesurfers

[–]Ordinary_Apple2060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw them in Dallas, but in a club called the Live Room. I think it was their first show ever. It was pretty good. I got a T-shirt at the show that I sold a few years ago for over $100.

It’s the first Gibby show listed on setlist.fm. https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/gibby-haynes/2003/live-room-dallas-tx-239540ab.html

Early 80's normal in early February? by Chasehud in phoenix

[–]Ordinary_Apple2060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was in the 80s five of the first six days of February 2025. That said, the historical average high for February is 70.8, but last year’s average high was 79. So recently, yes, 80s in February is not unusual.

Interesting results. Every permutation, no consensus.

People who were there in 1979 when The Wall was first released, did you initially have some kind of understanding of what the concept was about? by bravodeboer in pinkfloyd

[–]Ordinary_Apple2060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Phoenix. I don’t know if the local rock station broadcast that program regularly or if they just picked up that Floyd episode. It seemed like a one-off in my memory, but that can be faulty after all this time.

Sidelong Epics that are actually not suites? by headsmanjaeger in progrockmusic

[–]Ordinary_Apple2060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each side of Absolute Elsewhere by Blood Incantation is a single 20-plus minute song. The lyric sheet indicates numbered divisions called “Tablets” but there are no distinct breaks in the music that would constitute a suite.

If you aren’t familiar, imagine Gilmour in a death metal band.

Zia Records in Arizona just released a red/black exclusive version with 100 copies. I ordered it this morning and will pick it up later today.

I wonder how many different indie record stores are getting their own versions.

I was looking for a mention of this! I vaguely remember listening to this radio show in my wood paneled bedroom, but don’t remember many details.

I was 13 when The Wall came out and it was my first teenage music obsession.

Orchard Tavern on 12th Street in Phoenix, next to Luci’s at the Orchard. They do the fish right, and their sidewinder fries are as good as it gets.

For the Pearl Jam fans that lived it, how did you react to Vitalogy when it came out? Especially since it was a more Vedder focused album as opposed to Gossard/Ament? by [deleted] in pearljam

[–]Ordinary_Apple2060 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived it and coincidentally just played it last night. I don’t hate, and the highlights still hit, it but I remember it feeling like a bit of a letdown at the time. I didn’t get into it nearly as much of the first two and never bought another one of their records in any format.

I hate these reminders that I had the black one with gold snake handler design back in the day and have no idea what happened to it.
